Job description

MORI is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to provide remote strategic communications by creating marketing campaigns and maintaining social media for the Chief Data Office in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM).
From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. Come join us in support of NASA’s mission to inspire the world through information and discovery.
This position will include but not be limited to the following activities:
•  Establish and maintain comprehensive communications plans using multimodal methods, including SharePoint, videos, newsletters, and official notices.
•  Provide communications support services to advance awareness, adoption, and understanding of NASA's data and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives across the agency (communications and content development).
•  Author employee-facing communications, including messages, FAQs, memoranda, emails, announcements, talking points, and executive presentations that support CDAIO priorities and initiatives.
•  Develop and write success stories highlighting data and AI usage across the agency, including sourcing, interviewing subject matter experts, and drafting narratives suitable for multiple channels.
•  Break down complex technical and strategic information into clear, concise content for diverse, non-technical audiences.
•  Provide technical editing for the CDO and CDAIO office to ensure factual messaging with 0 defects using NASA documentation standards and AP style, with correct punctuation and grammar.
•  Utilize SharePoint and Teams for storage of materials and communication paths.
•  Develop executive level reports with varying delivery dates and respond to inquiries regarding reports.
•  Managing, editing and proofing content for various multimedia platforms.
•  Provide coordination and materials-preparation support for CDAIO speaking engagements, including scheduling support, content preparation, and follow-up materials.
•  Serve as point of contact for external media relations, social media creation, internal stakeholders and civic, service and educational organizations
Educational and experience requirements:
BA/BS in Communications, Mass Communications, Journalism, English, or related field.
Minimum Requirements:
•  5+ years of experience in multimedia software and social media platforms.
•  Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills and ability to determine organizational and analytical skills.
•  Generate innovative ideas for content across various media, including text, audio, video, and graphics.
•  Work closely with graphic designers, video editors and other media production staff to create cohesive multimedia content.
•  Adapt content to suit different platforms and media formats.
•  Proficiency with content management systems (SharePoint, WordPress).
•  Ability to work under tight deadlines.
•  Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions the employee bears travel costs to nearest NASA Center for badging and issue of NASA IT equipment.
For a Remote or Hybrid position, the employee must have a reliable internet connection and be able to VPN into the NASA network to conduct work.
Salary Range is: $80K to $91K.
