What are some common challenges faced when working for a remote furniture store, and how can they be addressed?

Working for a remote furniture store often involves challenges such as managing logistics for shipping large items, ensuring clear communication with both customers and suppliers, and troubleshooting design or assembly issues from a distance. To address these, it’s important to have robust systems for tracking orders and shipments, utilize video calls or detailed guides to assist customers, and maintain regular team check-ins to ensure everyone is aligned. Proactive communication and strong organizational skills are key to overcoming these hurdles in a remote setting.

What are remote furniture stores?

Remote furniture stores are online businesses that allow customers to browse, purchase, and arrange delivery of furniture entirely over the internet. These stores operate without a physical showroom, often offering a wider selection and the convenience of shopping from home. Customers can view product images, read descriptions, compare prices, and sometimes even use virtual tools to visualize furniture in their own space. Many remote furniture stores also provide customer support via chat, email, or phone to assist with product selection and order issues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Furniture Store Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Furniture Store Manager, you need experience in retail operations, e-commerce, and inventory management, often supported by a background in business or retail management. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (like Shopify or WooCommerce), CRM systems, and digital marketing tools is typically required. Strong customer service, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help build relationships and resolve issues efficiently. These skills ensure smooth online store operations, satisfied customers, and continued business growth in a competitive digital marketplace.

Job description

THE BIGGEST NAME IN HOME. THE BOLDEST TEAM IN E-COMMERCE.Ashley Digital is the e-commerce engine behind Ashley Furniture Industries - one of the most recognized home brands in the world. As the world's largest manufacturer of home furnishings and the largest furniture store brand in North America, Ashley is in a category unto itself. Our team sits at the intersection of world-class retail and digital innovation, driving the e-commerce experience for millions of customers across every platform and touchpoint. If you've shopped online for a mattress in the last decade, there's a good chance you've already experienced our award-winning Nectar Sleep and DreamCloud. We're a fast-moving, highly collaborative team operating at a transformational moment, and we're charged with shaping how people discover, explore, and buy home furnishings. Our expertise spans data science, performance marketing, product, and creative, and our work reaches millions of customers every day. It's a rare combination: the energy of a tech company, the stability of an industry leader, and the opportunity to build something truly significant. If you're energized by transformation, collaboration, and meaningful impact at scale, Ashley Digital is where ambition meets opportunity.
To be considered for this remote opportunity, you must reside and be authorized to work within the United States. Ideal candidates will be able to work during Eastern Stand Time business hours.
About the Role
Resident partners with some of the world's most recognized retail brands to build the data infrastructure that powers modern commerce. As the first Product Analyst dedicated to our parent company, Ashley Furniture - one of the largest furniture retailers globally, with a presence spanning high-volume eCommerce and hundreds of physical stores - you will play a foundational role in shaping how data drives product and business decisions across Ashley's digital experience.
This is a high-ownership role that blends hands-on analysis with strategic influence. You will define how success is measured, frame the right questions, and ensure data is used effectively to create real business impact. You will work remotely while collaborating closely with a globally distributed Data team, partnering day-to-day with colleagues to deliver meaningful, data-driven outcomes.
The right candidate is both analytically rigorous and commercially minded. You understand that great analysis is only as valuable as the decisions it drives - and you take ownership of that full journey. You are confident presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, can navigate complex organizational dynamics with professionalism, and remain focused and constructive when your thinking is challenged. You thrive in fast-paced, high-standards environments where the bar is high and the work is consequential.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Own and analyze the end-to-end user funnel - from discovery through to checkout - identifying opportunities to improve conversion, user experience, and revenue performance
  • Define KPIs and measurement frameworks for product initiatives and business performance, ensuring the right metrics are in place to drive meaningful decisions
  • Lead the design and analysis of A/B tests, including hypothesis definition, metric selection, and impact evaluation
  • Build and evolve the data foundations - event tracking, core metrics, and data definitions - in partnership with Data Engineering
  • Develop dashboards and monitoring tools that provide ongoing visibility into product and business performance
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and performance gaps, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Serve as a trusted analytical voice within the business - actively shaping strategy, challenging assumptions where the data demands it, and influencing key decisions with well-reasoned, evidence-based narratives
  • Establish scalable methodologies for measuring product and business performance across online and offline channels
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and global stakeholders to prioritize opportunities and influence roadmap decisions
  • Apply statistical rigor to experimentation, including power analysis, sample size estimation, and result interpretation

The responsibilities described above are not exhaustive. You may be asked, from time to time and as reasonably required by business needs, to perform other duties consistent with your skills and role, including work for or on behalf of our related entities. This job description does not constitute a contract of employment and may be modified at any time, subject to applicable law.
Skills & Qualifications
  • BSc/BA in a highly quantitative field - Economics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Analyst or Growth Analyst in a B2C environment
  • Proven experience in large-scale eCommerce or retail environments
  • Strong hands-on experience analyzing user behavior - funnels, segmentation, cohorts, churn, and LTV
  • Proven experience designing and analyzing A/B tests at scale
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience working across large, complex datasets
  • Strong ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analysis and clear, actionable insights
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present recommendations persuasively and engage constructively with challenge and debate
  • Experience working in cross-functional, global team environments

Preferred Skills:
  • Data visualization and reporting tools - Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar
  • Experience with data infrastructure - event tracking, data pipelines
  • Python or R for advanced analytics
  • Familiarity with AI tools for data analysis and productivity

What We Offer (subject to eligibility requirements):
  • Remote-first workplace (since 2016!)
  • Competitive salary
  • Annual bonus potential
  • Health, Vision & Dental Insurance
  • HSA company contributions
  • 401K with company match component
  • "Take what you need" PTO.
  • Wellness benefits
  • Online learning resources & trainings
  • WFH office and cell phone/internet stipend
  • A FREE MATTRESS plus an awesome Friends and Family discount!
