Management Consultant (MC-II, MC-III, or MC-IV) | 100% Remote
Position Summary

BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a full-time Management Consultant to support the OUSD/OARS financial management program. This role focuses on hands-on Fund Balance with Treasury support, including variance research, discrepancy resolution, supporting documentation, reporting, and ticket submission.

Candidates may be considered at the MC-II, MC-III, or MC-IV level based on education, years of experience, technical depth, leadership responsibilities, and contract requirements.

Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with specialized skills to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning software implementation.

Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance or higher
Work Location: 100% remote

What You Will Do
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for Fund Balance with Treasury activities.
  • Perform FBwT reconciliations and research financial variances and discrepancies.
  • Identify root causes and coordinate the actions needed to resolve outstanding or aged items.
  • Pull transaction details, financial reports, trial balances, journal entries, and other supporting documentation.
  • Review general ledger activity and reconcile balances between financial systems and reports.
  • Prepare and submit Help Desk, system, or accounting tickets when issues require additional support.
  • Track open issues, discrepancies, and tickets through resolution.
  • Use Advana to research, validate, analyze, and report financial information.
  • Use DAI applications and reports to research transactions and financial discrepancies, when applicable.
  • Prepare variance summaries, financial analyses, status reports, and briefings.
  • Provide limited support for audit remediation, internal controls, Corrective Action Plans, SOPs, and PP&E activities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance or higher.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelorโ€™s or masterโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline, as required for the applicable labor category.
  • Federal or Department of Defense financial management, accounting, audit remediation, or business process experience.
  • Hands-on experience with FBwT analysis, reconciliation, variance research, or discrepancy resolution.
  • Experience pulling reports, transaction details, and supporting documentation to resolve financial issues.
  • Experience with general ledger reviews, trial balance reconciliations, posting logic, journal entries, or aged variance cleanup.
  • Advana experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DAI experience.
  • Experience submitting and tracking Help Desk, system, or accounting tickets.
  • Experience with PP&E, Real Property, or General Equipment audit remediation.
