Remote Full Stack Data Scientist information

What is a Remote Full Stack Data Scientist?

A Remote Full Stack Data Scientist is a professional who works from any location to handle the end-to-end process of data science projects. This includes collecting and cleaning data, developing and training machine learning models, deploying solutions into production, and sometimes building user-facing applications. They are skilled in both back-end (data engineering, modeling) and front-end (visualization, application development) tasks. Remote Full Stack Data Scientists often collaborate with distributed teams using digital communication and project management tools. Their broad skill set allows them to manage the entire data pipeline and deliver actionable insights or products remotely.

How do Remote Full Stack Data Scientists typically collaborate with cross-functional teams in a virtual environment?

Remote Full Stack Data Scientists frequently work with product managers, engineers, and business analysts using collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and project management platforms like Jira or Trello. Regular virtual meetings, clear documentation, and version control systems (like Git) help ensure transparency and alignment across teams. Effective communication and proactive updates are essential to keep projects on track and to integrate data-driven insights into the broader product development process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Full Stack Data Scientist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Full Stack Data Scientist, you need a strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, data engineering, and programming languages like Python or R, usually supported by a relevant degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, SQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and experience with version control systems like Git are typically required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and self-motivation skills are crucial for collaborating remotely and translating complex data insights to stakeholders. These combined abilities ensure effective end-to-end data solutions, seamless remote teamwork, and impactful business outcomes.

Description

Summary:

Will be responsible for building and delivering innovative applications and automation solutions end-to-end, rapidly translating ideas into working prototypes and reusable assets. This role requires strong hands-on full-stack engineering skills, experience building AI integrated applications end-to-end, developing APIs and user experiences, and the ability to operate independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced innovation environment

This role focuses on high-velocity development of innovation solutions, building applications, APIs, workflow automations, and integrations that demonstrate clear business value. The Senior Innovation Software Engineer will partner closely across the Innovation team to develop end-to-end high-quality prototype applications, implement AI-enabled features, and ensure solutions are well-designed, testable, and ready for broader reuse.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to validate new ideas and technologies, with emphasis on building working applications end-to-end.
  • Design and implement APIs, backend services, workflow automations, and UI experiences to support innovation use cases.
  • Build AI-enabled application capabilities (e.g., agent workflows, prompt/tooling patterns, evaluation and guardrails) in partnership with AI technical leadership
  • Experiment with, develop, and implement emerging technology solutions (e.g., agent-based workflows, digital assets, etc.) and translate into working solutions.
  • Develop and maintain rapid development patterns for innovation solutions (starter kits, reusable components, internal demos, and implementation playbooks).
  • Integrate solutions with enterprise systems as needed (identity/access, data sources, eventing, internal services), partnering with architecture and platform stakeholders.
  • Evaluate emerging tools and frameworks that improve engineering velocity and quality (AI-assisted development, orchestration frameworks, UI frameworks).
  • Operate with limited supervision, proactively defining tasks, making progress visible, and driving solutions to completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 8 - 12 years of experience in software engineering, application development, and end-to-end innovative solution delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated hands-on software development experience building full-stack applications end-to-end such as APIs, back-end applications, and UIs.
  • Strong experience building AI-enabled solutions and integrating models/services into applications in a hands-on capacity.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, progressing despite ambiguity and ability to independently lead development workstreams from concept to execution.
  • Clear, structured verbal and written communication skills; collaborative and proactive working style.
  • Strong full-stack experience (backend apps and building functional UIs quickly).
  • Experience with Google Cloud / Vertex AI / Gemini or comparable AI platforms.
  • Strong hands-on development experience using modern programming. languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar) and/or experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience with cloud development, containerization, CI/CD, and deploying applications into enterprise environments.
  • Experience building automation solutions (workflow engines, scripting, web automation, system-to-system integration).
  • Experience with secure coding practices, application security basics, and building in regulated environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering innovative solutions using emerging. technologies, with focus on rapid experimentation, implementation, and measurable outcomes.
