The Opportunity

  • Lead and manage the full specialty operations team.
  • Own day-to-day operational performance across all radiology sites, driving accountability to key metrics including wRVUs, turnaround time (TAT), and quality benchmarks.
  • Develop and execute site-level operational playbooks, including protocols for new site launches, site stabilization, and wind-down.
  • Set the department's strategic vision, objectives, and attendant policies and procedures; establish and implement operating policies and procedures to maintain compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Identify operational efficiencies, meet regulatory and client expectations, and develop a "best specialty" approach to defined operational areas.
  • Implement programs and services to improve specialty operations, and collaborate with the internal consulting team to integrate start-up processes and improve site performance.
  • Monitor and manage radiologist productivity targets, including wRVU benchmarks by modality and site.
  • Oversee TAT performance across STAT, routine, and after-hours reads, ensuring compliance with site-specific contractual standards.
  • Track and report on read volume, modality mix (CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound), and coverage ratios across the portfolio.
  • Manage credentialing and privileging compliance timelines for all radiologists across active sites.
  • Oversee critical findings communication compliance and peer review participation rates; monitor staffing ratios and flag coverage gaps that create operational or quality risk.
  • Track equipment uptime and escalate downtime issues that impact read volume or site performance.
  • Set the strategic direction for the radiology technology stack - PACS, RIS, teleradiology, HL7/PACS routing, and data integration platforms - ensuring investments align with practice line growth goals and enterprise standards.
  • Serve as sponsor for technology initiatives, partnering with a dedicated IT team to translate clinical and operational priorities into roadmaps, vendor decisions, and implementation plans.
  • Champion a data-driven culture by ensuring the practice line has the reporting infrastructure and analytics capabilities to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Drive strategy for team adoption and implementation of AI tools for efficient and innovative operations.
  • Manage the overall specialty P&L, including all site and overall practice performance, and oversee the operations budget, including site-level financials, vendor costs, and stipend management.
  • Partner with billing and coding teams to monitor charge capture rates, denial rates, and collections performance.
  • Manage key vendor and technology relationships, including imaging platforms, HL7/PACS routing systems, and scheduling tools.
  • Identify cost inefficiencies and develop mitigation strategies to address financial and operational risks proactively.
  • Lead the ongoing integration of new sites into the Vituity operating model, aligning culture, processes, and systems.
  • Collaborate with the growth team to build proformas and proposals for new contracts, and partner with data analytics, contracts, compliance, and clinical leadership to support specialty growth and new site launches.
  • Provide direction, performance oversight, and professional development across all direct and indirect reports; mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies.
  • Partner with recruiting leadership to build and sustain a strong ops talent pipeline.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration across a geographically distributed team.
  • Lead, direct, and review the work of team members to accomplish program initiatives, operational plans, and results within schedule and budget.
  • Provide performance feedback through recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action with the assistance of People Operations when necessary; provide primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and rewards decisions for direct reports in accordance with organization guidelines.
  • Represent operations in leadership forums and serve as a key partner to the executive team on strategic initiatives.

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Management, Public Health and 10 years of progressive operations management experience required OR a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the attainment of the required knowledge skills, and abilities is required.
  • 5+ years of radiology specialty specific healthcare experience required.
  • Master's degree in Business, Healthcare management, Public Health, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in healthcare, physician specialty management, and/or multi-location operations preferred.
  • Experience working in a hospital preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare management, ideally encompassing both hospital-based management experience and physician specialty management.
  • Knowledge of physicians' clinical, management, and leadership roles in the healthcare environment in order to assist the physician group clients in developing a competitive advantage in their marketplace.
  • Ability to rapidly assess needs and deliver solutions (results-oriented).
  • Knowledge of payer contracting and its impact on the physician specialty.
  • Knowledge of performance measures that affect specialty and medical-legal considerations affecting medical specialty:
    • Revenue cycle management; payer contracting.
    • Knowledge of clinical specialty.
    • Performance measures that affect specialty.
    • Medical-legal considerations affecting specialty.
  • Strong analytical skills, creative conceptualization, collaborative management ability, and polished interpersonal skills.

We are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $153,380 - $199,395, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual corporate Success Sharing bonus program, which is based on the company's annual performance. If you are hired at Vituity, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
