About the Role

As a Strategy & Operations Manager on the Postmates team, you will help us achieve our strategic goals by acting as our analytical engine. Operating as a startup within the broader Uber Eats business, our tight-knit team has the autonomy to do things differently, and move fast. This role requires a highly versatile professional with a superpower in data analysis, reporting infrastructure, and operational execution. You will conduct in-depth analysis, develop critical reporting systems, and generate insights that drive business performance across our customer and merchant groups.

You are a self-starter with a high degree of curiosity who thrives in fast-paced environments. You will have the opportunity to quickly develop, build, and operationalize data-backed solutions for the 'in the know' Postmates brand.


 

What You'll Do
 

  • Observe & Strategize: As a critical problem solver, observe and understand current operations, processes, and consumer trends. Ask the right questions, and use your analytical skills to proactively call out risks and growth opportunities in a rapidly moving market.
  • Analyze & Build: Dive deep into the data to identify trends and anomalies. Build, automate, and maintain the reporting systems and dashboards that help the business make better, faster decisions.
  • Generate Insights: Translate complex data into meaningful, actionable recommendations based on research, customer needs, and feedback from our cross-functional teams.
  • Develop Solutions: Design structured tests and operational solutions for customer and business problems, ensuring we have the right metrics in place to measure success and iterate rapidly.
  • Operationalize Projects: Bring your data-driven ideas to life. Taking advantage of our startup-style agility, you will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts to launch your recommendations and track their impact.


 

Basic Qualifications 
 

  • 2+ years of experience 
  • Bachelors degree
  • Fluency in SQL, query languages, dashboard design/creation, and statistical methods
  • High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets


 

Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Degree in data science, business or marketing analytics
  • Proficient in Python, statistical and programming languages
  • Familiarity with AI tools and techniques including agentic AI
  • Interest in financial or operational forecasting, consumer pricing, revenue management, or marketing and/or social media analytics
  • Critical and structured thinking, with a natural curiosity and confidence to seek out answers, and propose solutions where there may not yet be an answer
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting data & insights to a diverse audience
  • Strong project management skills, comfortable working independently at times 
  • Self-motivated, solutions-orientated, with a bias for impact and action
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • An interest in the future of on-demand logistics
  • Awareness of social and cultural tastes and trends

  • Prior experience in data science or analytics, consulting or strategy, project or operations management, or a related field

For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $106,000 per year - USD $118,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
