• Conduct in-depth evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, employing various diagnostic tools and questionnaires.
• Collaborate closely with clients to create personalized treatment plans that address their specific needs, goals, and preferences.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate effective client interactions.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and resilience.
• Monitor client progress, revising treatment plans as necessary to align with therapeutic milestones and evolving needs.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care for clients, coordinating medication management when applicable.
• Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatments to enhance the effectiveness of your clinical practice.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards, while upholding the dignity and privacy of clients.
• Participate in case consultations, attend team meetings, and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Actively advocate for clients to ensure their mental health needs are met, addressing issues such as stigma and access to care.

Your primary focus will be on individuals dealing with mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will work with a variety of demographics, supporting clients who may also be part of vulnerable groups, such as the homeless, refugees, or survivors of domestic abuse. Your ability to build rapport and trust will be essential in helping these individuals navigate their challenges and achieve meaningful progress.

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital for building a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
