Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking an ambitious and motivated Forward Deployed Implementation Engineer to join our mission-driven team. We are a dynamic, fast-growing entrepreneurial company at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and national security, committed to delivering transformative solutions that empower our nation’s defenders.

As a Forward Deployed Implementation Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring our Federal customers’ success when deploying on our various GameWarden platforms. The Customer Implementation Engineer will represent 2F as a technical subject matter expert during customer-facing engagements, working closely with program managers while collaborating cross-functionally with product, platform engineering, corporate customer success, program management, and sales.

Note: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret / SCI eligible security clearance. Candidates holding an active or interim DoD TS/SCI eligible clearance (or higher) are strongly preferred. Due to the strict federal security requirements for this role, U.S. citizenship is required.

What You’ll Do:
  • Serve as a key member of the owning technical aspects of direct customer deployment implementations

  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of Second Front products and represent 2F internally and externally as a trusted subject matter expert on the Federal team

  • Identify areas for improvement in our onboarding or customer support processes and engage with product teams to align roadmaps with demand signals

  • Onboard our customers’ apps into GameWarden for security scanning, deployment configuration and development of accreditation products

  • Configure and perform customer deployments in the cloud environments

  • Work with on-premises hardware to prepare and install devices with secure OS and Kubernetes

 
Skills You’ll Bring to Our Team:
  • Act as a vital team contributor, spearheading the technical execution for direct customer platform integrations

  • Master the technical nuances of our toolset to serve as a high-impact subject matter expert for the Federal division

  • Self-starter who can thrive independently and in team settings

  • Strong client-facing operational experience, ideally within the Defense Industrial Base (partnerships, or customer success) who enjoys solving problems with customers to achieve mission success

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure (certified or eager to certify)

  • Hands-on experience with Linux installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance

  • Mid to Senior-level experience in technical roles (software engineering, sales engineering, technical product management) with proven problem-solving skills

  • Hands-on software development, networking, or DevOps experience with cloud technologies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in high-pressure environments

  • Active Security Clearance (TS/SCI) or ability to obtain SCI

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps tools and practices

  • Ability to support occasional travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a federal/government-facing solutions architect role

  • Strong track record supporting complex enterprise SaaS customers

  • Cybersecurity knowledge or certifications (e.g., Security+)

  • Familiarity with 2F’s tech stack: AWS, Talos Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Istio, Git, GitLab, Terraform, relational databases

The base salary for this position will fall between $119,000-160,000 Your ultimate compensation will be determined by professional background, technical proficiency, seniority, and regional cost factors. Furthermore, this opportunity includes potential eligibility for equity awards and discretionary bonuses, rounding out a comprehensive total rewards offering.
