About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Solutions Architect to lead the design, modernization, and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions within AWS. This role is responsible for architecting cloud-native environments, supporting enterprise cloud migration initiatives, and ensuring infrastructure aligns with security, compliance, and business objectives.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AWS architecture, cloud migration, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices. Working closely with developers, infrastructure engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders, you will provide technical leadership, recommend cloud best practices, and drive the adoption of modern cloud technologies that improve performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and architecture of NLM-approved cloud solutions, including infrastructure as code, microservices architecture, serverless computing, containers, and data storage.
  • Execute NLM-defined cloud migration strategies and support the adoption of AWS services to modernize existing applications and infrastructure.
  • Design and recommend highly available and fault-tolerant systems on AWS, leveraging services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, and other AWS technologies.
  • Design secure cloud environments by implementing best practices for identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, network security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of cloud resources using tools such as AWS CloudFormation and AWS CloudWatch.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Developers, DevOps, SysOps, SecOps engineers, and other technical team members.
  • Stay current with AWS platform updates, emerging technologies, and industry best practices, evaluating their impact and recommending architectural improvements.
  • Conduct performance optimization, cost analysis, and capacity planning for AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements, assess solution feasibility, and recommend cloud architectures aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of third-party tools and technologies that enhance cloud capabilities and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification or equivalent experience. AWS Networking and Security Specialty certifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud solutions on AWS, including migrating enterprise applications and infrastructure to the cloud.
  • Proficiency with AWS services including Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS/EKS, Amazon VPC, AWS IAM, AWS CloudFormation, and related cloud technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles, governance, and AWS security best practices.
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies and tools supporting CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and configuration management, including Jenkins, Git, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Experience working within regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or government, with an understanding of security and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and implementing NLM-approved architectural decisions.
