This role focuses on translating strategic direction from the UX Architect and Senior Product Designers into high-quality design deliverables. The designer will demonstrate solid design fundamentals, work effectively within design systems and 3rd party platform constraints, and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver multi-step workflows and data-heavy interfaces.
Scope of Work
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute design work for assigned features and workflows based on direction from UX Architect and Senior Product Designers
  • Design multi-step processes, complex forms with conditional logic, and data-heavy interfaces
  • Apply and maintain design system components and patterns consistently
  • Work within 3rd party platform constraints to create effective user experiences
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and understanding of accessibility basics
  • Design for various states, edge cases, and responsive behaviors
  • Organize and document design files with clarity and consistency
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers and engineers, asking clarifying questions
  • Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback constructively
  • Support usability testing and user feedback sessions
  • Demonstrate growth mindset and coachability, actively seeking to level up skills
Sprint-Level Activities:
  • Participate in sprint planning and story refinement sessions
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs for sprint features
  • Attend daily standups and provide design status updates
  • Collaborate with engineers during implementation to answer questions and review builds
  • Participate in bi-weekly design reviews with UX team
  • Document design decisions and specifications
  • Support QA with design validation

Key Deliverables:
Quarterly (PI-aligned):
  • Design work completed for all assigned features within the PI
  • Contribution to design system components and documentation
  • Updated design files organized and documented for team access
  • Participation in PI planning and retrospectives

  • User flows for assigned features
  • Wireframes showing layout, hierarchy, and interaction patterns
  • High-fidelity UI designs adhering to design system standards
  • Interactive prototypes demonstrating key interactions and flows
  • Design specifications and annotations for development handoff
  • Redlines and asset preparation as needed
  • Design QA review and feedback
As Needed:
  • Component designs and variations
  • Responsive design specifications
  • Accessibility documentation and compliance artifacts
  • Design exploration options for stakeholder review
  • Updates to existing designs based on feedback or technical constraints

Required Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
  • 3-6 years of UX/UI design experience
  • Demonstrated solid design fundamentals including understanding of patterns, states, flows, and edge cases
  • Experience designing workflows and multi-step processes (not just landing pages or marketing sites)
  • Proficiency working with data-heavy interfaces and complex applications
  • Experience working within design systems or contributing to building them
  • Track record of collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Ability to articulate thinking behind design decisions

Portfolio Requirements:
  • Examples of complex workflows and multi-step processes

  • Clear presentation of design process and decision-making
  • Examples showing attention to detail including states, edge cases, and responsive behaviors
  • Work demonstrating collaboration with product and engineering teams
