Alternative Solutions Counseling Center is seeking an empathetic and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team. This role is entirely remote, allowing flexibility while utilizing modern technology to deliver therapeutic services. By leveraging electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, you will document client interactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring seamless communication with other healthcare providers. Our team works collaboratively, promoting a culture of support and continuous improvement even in a virtual setting.

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs, ensuring thorough documentation from the first consultation through the course of treatment.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that cater to individuals, couples, families, and groups, including crisis intervention strategies as necessary.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and adapting to the needs of varied populations.
• Monitor client progress and adjust plans as needed, utilizing measurable outcomes to guide treatment approaches.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other mental health professionals to ensure holistic patient care and adequate follow-up for those transitioning from inpatient to outpatient services.
• Work proactively to identify potential barriers to recovery, providing preventive education to clients and their families to empower them in the healing process.
• Offer support and guidance to family members and caregivers managing behavioral health challenges alongside their loved ones.

You will be working with a wide range of clients facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and more. • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• A current and valid license as a Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in the state of Texas is mandatory.
• A requisite pass score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems to enhance service delivery and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with care and expertise.

• At least 2-3 years of experience working in a clinical mental health setting is preferred.
• Experience addressing a wide array of mental health conditions, including substance use disorders.
• Familiarity with best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is a plus.
• A solid understanding of psychotherapeutic medications and their implications in treatment plans.
