Job description

Skydio is the leading US drone company and the world leader in autonomous flight, the key technology for the future of drones and aerial mobility. The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in-class hardware and software product development, operational excellence, and customer obsession to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users, from utility inspectors to first responders, soldiers in battlefield scenarios, and beyond.
About the role:
We are looking for a driven, results-oriented Senior Manager to lead Skydio's customer training programs across Public Safety, Commercial, and National Security markets, with a strong emphasis on public safety and federal government customers. This leader will be responsible for building and scaling training programs that enable successful adoption of Skydio's autonomous drone hardware, software, dock, remote operations, and mission workflow solutions across complex enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will bring experience developing scaled training programs for UAS, robotics, or similarly complex technology platforms, with a proven ability to translate technical capabilities into practical, mission-oriented instruction for enterprise customers. This role will serve as a critical driver of customer readiness, ensuring organizations can safely, effectively, and compliantly implement Skydio products across real-world operational use cases.
This role requires comfort operating in an agile, fast-moving product environment and the organizational discipline to manage multiple overlapping training initiatives across products in different stages of maturity. Reporting to the VP, Mission Success, this leader will work closely with Training Content, Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Deployment teams to deliver industry-leading training across the Skydio portfolio.
How you'll make an impact:
  • Own the strategy, planning, execution, and performance tracking of remote and in-person customer training programs that drive successful adoption and application of Skydio's technology stack across commercial, public safety, and national security customers, with particular emphasis on public safety and federal government use cases.
  • Serve as the senior UAS industry, regulatory, Part 107, and operational standards subject matter expert, ensuring customer training programs align with FAA, state, local, federal, and mission-specific requirements.
  • Build and lead a scalable training function that develops customer confidence in Skydio products while reinforcing Skydio's technical differentiation, operational value, and alignment to industry best practices.
  • Establish and maintain training programs mapped to relevant industry standards, customer operating models, and mission profiles across enterprise, public safety, and national security environments.
  • Expand training reach through LMS platforms, remote content delivery, train-the-trainer models, and repeatable enablement programs that support scaled adoption across distributed customer organizations.
  • Develop and manage multiple concurrent training plans, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, resource constraints, compliance considerations, and execution gaps across customer training events.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Go-to-Market teams to understand customer use cases and tailor training programs to maximize operational outcomes.
  • Lead alignment with Training Content, Product, Engineering, Regulatory, and Support teams to ensure all training materials remain current with the latest hardware, software, industry standards, regulatory guidance, and operational best practices.
  • Support broader go-to-market and business priorities by contributing training expertise to customer engagements, implementation planning, product feedback loops, and strategic enablement initiatives, especially for public safety and national security customers.

Desired qualifications:
  • Extensive first-hand technical UAS experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm.
  • FAA Part 107 Certificate required.
  • Experience with automated or semi-automated flight planning software.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills to audiences of all levels.
  • Training design, development and facilitation experience is required.
  • Experience leading training of UAS or other robotic systems with enterprise or government customers is strongly preferred.
  • Bring a strong background in one technical area (Examples: UAS, USV, aviation, robotics, or similarly complex technology platforms)
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
