Job description

About Us

Air-tek is a Canadian-based software company with a powerful suite of unique products that have already achieved a significant share of a huge global market. The product market fit is excellent, and customers are lining up to buy. Although our global customers know us, we intentionally operate in stealth mode during this growth phase.

Our diverse team shares a collective passion for solving complex problems with a drive to innovate and a desire to create the passenger-centric travel industry

Based in Toronto, our inclusive culture is built on trust, collaboration, delivering a great product, and continuous personal development. We love what we do, and we support the team around us.

Responsibilities
ย
  • Support the software and associated infrastructure within complex customer environments, working hands-on in cloud consoles and operational tools on a daily basis
  • Prepare, initiate, and monitor software deployments, executing steps carefully and methodically through cloud and management interfaces
  • Provision new customer cloud environments as required, following defined processes and checklists to ensure consistent and accurate results
  • Perform environment maintenance tasks based on internal plans or requests from other teams
  • Manage, monitor, analyze, and document changes to client environments, following change management procedures
  • Diagnose environment or software problems by reviewing logs, configuration, and other details, and applying standard procedures, findings from research, and your own experience
  • Help establish and follow processes and checklists, ensuring consistent results for routine tasks, and identifying opportunities to automate over time
  • Streamline operations through continuous improvement initiatives - including automation, process documentation, remote monitoring, and tooling improvements
  • Take the lead on certain technical and process improvements as you develop your knowledge of the environment
  • Help improve our monitoring, alerting, environment maintenance, and provisioning tools
  • Collaborate with other teams including Incident Management, Product, and Engineering
  • Participate in a rotating schedule that includes on-call shifts and scheduled night shifts, providing coverage across customer time zones
  • Work with a wide variety of technologies and adapt quickly as the environment evolves
  • Learn and grow continuously, with support from your manager and the broader team

Note on scheduling: This role includes participation in a rotating on-call schedule as well as periodic scheduled night shifts. Shift structures are distributed fairly across the team and are communicated well in advance.

Qualifications (About You):
  • 1-5 years of previous experience in an IT operations, cloud operations, DevOps, or managed services environment - we value depth of hands-on experience over years
  • Comfortable working directly in cloud consoles and management tools; you take pride in careful, methodical execution
  • Solid foundation working with Windows OS and/or Linux
  • Experience with AWS - especially EKS, EC2, S3, ECS, DataSync, and networking fundamentals including VPCs, subnets, and security groups - or a comparable cloud platform such as Azure or GCP
  • Highly self-motivated, with a genuine interest in technology and a drive to keep improving
  • General IP networking fundamentals

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Message broker / message queueing systems such as RabbitMQ, WebSphere MQ, Apache Kafka, or ActiveMQ
  • NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis
  • Remote monitoring and log automation tools
Nice to have:
  • Experience with airlines or related operational systems - this will shorten your ramp-up time, though it is not required; you will learn on the job
  • Familiarity with an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach to provisioning and managing IT infrastructure
The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $130,000. In addition to salary, new hires may be eligible to receive stock options.
