What is remote first brands group?

Remote First Brands Group is a company that specializes in building and managing a portfolio of digital-first consumer brands. The organization is structured to operate with a remote workforce, allowing employees to work from anywhere while collaborating virtually. Their focus is on leveraging technology to launch, grow, and scale brands in various industries, often emphasizing e-commerce and direct-to-consumer business models. Remote First Brands Group supports flexibility, innovation, and a global talent pool by prioritizing remote work as a fundamental aspect of their company culture.

What are some common challenges faced by team members working at a remote first brands group, and how can I prepare for them?

Working in a remote-first brands group often means collaborating across time zones, managing projects virtually, and maintaining strong communication without in-person interaction. Common challenges include staying aligned with team goals, overcoming potential feelings of isolation, and effectively managing your own time and productivity. To prepare, focus on developing strong digital communication skills, being proactive in checking in with your team, and using project management tools to stay organized. Embracing flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities will also help you succeed in this dynamic environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a brand manager at a remote first company, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Brand Manager at a remote-first company, you need expertise in brand strategy, digital marketing, and data-driven decision-making, often supported by a degree in marketing or business. Familiarity with tools like project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello), analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics), and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom) is typically required. Exceptional communication, self-motivation, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for managing teams and projects in a distributed work environment. These capabilities ensure cohesive brand messaging, effective collaboration, and strong business growth despite geographical barriers.

Job description

Hi! We'reMercuryo, and we're on a mission to redefine finance by blending the best of traditional banking with the power of decentralized finance (DeFi). We believe everyone deserves seamless access to Web3 and traditional financial services, so we're building the platform that makes it real: one that simplifies crypto and integrates it into the broader financial ecosystem.

Since launching in 2018, we've grown into a recognized force in the industry, named one of Europe's Fastest-Growing Startups 2025 by Sifted and awarded Best Crypto On-Ramp & Payments Solution 2025 by Cryptonomist. We've partnered with leading brands including Visa, Mastercard, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Ledger, and Jupiter, powering over 200 products and collaborating directly with major ecosystems like Solana, Consensys, and BNB Chain.

Why Mercuryo?

Industry Impact

Join us in helping world-class Web3 projects onboard millions of new users into the next generation of finance.

Innovative Environment

Collaborate with more than 300 talented professionals from diverse backgrounds - including banking, SaaS, and Web3 - all united in delivering outstanding user experiences.

AI-First Culture

We actively integrate AI across the company, from operations and analytics to marketing and product workflows. It helps teams move faster, improve productivity, and focus on high-impact work - while maintaining human oversight and accountability at every step. We see AI as a core part of how our teams innovate, collaborate, and scale.

Growth and Learning

Our expanding network of 200+ B2B partnerships and a user base of over 7 million means there's always room to grow your skills, tackle new challenges, and push boundaries.

Flexible Culture

We're remote-first, celebrating diversity across 30 countries. In 2026, Mercuryo was recognized as a Great Place to Work across five countries based entirely on anonymous employee feedback. The recognition reflects a culture of trust and collaboration.

About the Role:

We are looking for an exceptional Head of US / Country Manager to build, grow, and lead Mercuryo's US business. This role is ideal for someone who deeply understands the US fintech and crypto ecosystem and can drive commercial growth in a highly regulated environment. You will own Mercuryo's US strategy end-to-end - from market expansion and business development to regulatory coordination and operational execution. Working closely with Business Development, Product, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Leadership, you will ensure the US business scales successfully while remaining fully aligned with our global teams. This is a builder role requiring both strategic thinking and strong execution, balancing revenue growth and partnerships with governance, execution, and cross-functional leadership.

Your Role:

US Strategy & Growth

  • Define and execute Mercuryo's US strategy in alignment with global leadership.
  • Identify growth opportunities across on/off-ramp, payments, cards, and embedded finance.
  • Build a strong pipeline of strategic partnerships and drive revenue growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competition, and customer demand.

Commercial Expansion

  • Lead US new business acquisition across merchants, exchanges, wallets, fintechs, and ecosystem partners.
  • Build executive relationships, negotiate complex deals, and drive commercial expansion.
  • Represent Mercuryo at major industry events and strategic meetings.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the central leader for US priorities across Product, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, Support, and BD.
  • Create clear ownership, remove blockers, and drive execution.
  • Ensure the US organization operates as one Mercuryo, with no disconnect from global teams.

Regulatory & Operational Leadership

  • Build trusted relationships with regulators, banking partners, legal advisors, and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk on evolving US regulatory requirements, including Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs), state licensing, and digital asset frameworks.
  • Oversee operational scaling, governance, vendor management, and process efficiency.

Performance & Leadership

  • Own US KPIs, budget, and performance reporting.
  • Track growth, revenue, operational, and risk metrics.
  • Build a high-performance culture with strong ownership and accountability.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in fintech, crypto, banking, payments, or financial services.
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role with ownership over revenue, strategy, or market expansion.
  • Strong understanding of the US crypto, payments, and regulatory landscape.
  • Proven track record of scaling businesses, markets, or business units.
  • Strong commercial instincts with demonstrated success in enterprise sales or strategic partnerships.
  • Experience working in highly cross-functional and fast-paced environments.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across distributed teams.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure from scratch.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

What Makes You Exceptional:

  • You think like an owner, not an employee.
  • You balance strategy with execution.
  • You move fast without sacrificing judgement.
  • You know how to align multiple teams around one goal.
  • You can operate equally well in boardrooms, regulatory meetings, and internal execution calls.
  • You understand that growth without operational excellence is fragile.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive market rate salary and performance-based incentives.
  • 22 days annual leave with an additional 6 company days, plus bank holidays.
  • Comprehensive health insurance plans.
  • Extensive benefits program.
  • Flexible work schedule and remote work options.
  • Modern offices and co-working spaces across 6 countries.
  • Working equipment.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
  • Opportunity to shape the initiatives you're working on.
  • Diverse and friendly team.
  • We are open-minded to new ideas.
