Job description

Role Overview

Are you passionate about smart, safe design? As a Fire Sprinkler System Designer with us, you'll play a key role in protecting people and property by crafting efficient, code-compliant fire sprinkler systems that keep projects running smoothly. You'll get to solve design challenges, collaborate with engineers and field teams, and see your plans come to life on real construction sites. If you enjoy using AutoCAD, tackling hydraulics, and driving projects forward with clear communication, this role is for you. We're looking for someone with 2 to 5 years' experience who's ready to grow professionally, including pursuing NICET Level 2 certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diving deep into architectural and engineering plans to fully understand project scope and technical needs.
  • Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to develop effective, efficient sprinkler system layouts that optimize protection and cost.
  • Creating detailed AutoCAD drawings and hydraulic calculations that serve as precise guides for fabrication and installation.
  • Preparing Requests for Information (RFI) to clarify or resolve design questions quickly, keeping projects moving.
  • Coordinating closely with procurement and fabrication teams to ensure materials are ordered accurately, on time, and meet quality standards.
  • Remotely supporting field crews during installation, reviewing progress, and addressing technical challenges to ensure strict adherence to the design and safety protocols.
  • Keeping projects organized and on schedule by tracking deadlines, adjusting plans as necessary, and communicating clearly with all parties involved.
  • Staying up to date with the latest fire protection codes, technologies, and best practices, and bringing that knowledge into your designs for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years' experience designing fire sprinkler systems.
  • Good skills with AutoCAD.
  • A solid understanding of hydraulics.
  • Experience with fire pump installations is a bonus.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and customer service abilities.
  • NICET Level 2 certification in Fire Suppression - Water Based Systems, or ready to take the exam.
