Remote Fintech Software Engineer information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Fintech Software Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Fintech Software Engineer, you need strong programming skills (often in languages like Python, Java, or C#), a solid understanding of financial systems, and a relevant degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as AWS or Azure), experience with APIs, and knowledge of security protocols or certifications like AWS Certified Developer or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are highly valued. Exceptional problem-solving, self-motivation, and effective virtual communication are critical soft skills for remote collaboration and complex project execution. These abilities ensure you can build secure, scalable financial solutions and work productively across distributed teams in a highly regulated industry.

What is a Remote Fintech Software Engineer?

A Remote Fintech Software Engineer is a software developer who works from a location outside of a traditional office, often from home, and specializes in building, maintaining, or enhancing financial technology (fintech) applications. These professionals work on products such as online banking platforms, payment systems, investment tools, and blockchain solutions. Their role typically involves coding, testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create secure, scalable, and user-friendly financial software. Working remotely allows them to collaborate with global teams and clients using digital communication and project management tools.

How do Remote Fintech Software Engineers typically collaborate with cross-functional teams given the distributed work environment?

Remote Fintech Software Engineers frequently work with product managers, UX/UI designers, and QA specialists through virtual collaboration platforms like Slack, Jira, and Zoom. Effective communication and clear documentation are essential to ensure alignment on project goals, compliance requirements, and tight delivery timelines. Regular stand-up meetings, code reviews, and asynchronous updates help maintain productivity and foster team cohesion, despite working across different time zones. Adapting to this remote collaboration style is important for delivering secure, scalable fintech solutions.

Job description

What is the job?

At Regal, every great story starts with technology. Weโ€™re seeking Software Engineers ready to play a starring role in shaping the future of cinema experiences. From digital ticketing and mobile engagement to in-theater innovation, your code will help set the stage for unforgettable nights at the movies. If you love the idea of blending creativity, technology, and storytelling you belong in this production.

What will you be doing?

As part of our technology ensemble cast, youโ€™ll:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that enhance cinema operations and elevate guest experiences.
  • Collaborate across product, design, and operations teams to translate business goals into elegant, scalable solutions.
  • Take ownership of projects from storyboard to premiereโ€”seeing your work through from concept to production release.
  • Continuously refine performance, scalability, and reliability to keep the show running flawlessly.
  • Stay ahead of tech trends and pitch innovative ideas that make every visit to Regal a blockbuster experience.

About you

Youโ€™ll shine in this role if you have:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Next.js, React, .NET, and C#.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms, CI/CD practices, and modern software architecture.
  • A creative, problem-solving mindset with a knack for working independently.
  • A passion for technology and storytellingโ€”bonus points if youโ€™ve built consumer-facing or mobile apps after.
  • Youโ€™ll be a great fit if our values resonate with you: We Create. We Perform. We Inspire. We bring stories to lifeโ€”not just on-screen, but through every experience we build.
