Sun Life is growing its Group Retirement Services team and is looking for talented, licensed Financial Services Consultants to join us in British Columbia or Alberta.

In this sales-focused role, you'll connect with existing members of Sun Life Group Retirement Savings plans across Canada, helping them make informed decisions about their financial future. In this role, you will speak with existing Sun Life clients primarily by phone, and through video meetings when appropriate. You will uncover client needs, explain their options, provide personalized recommendations, and help them take action with confidence.

What you will do:

  • Proactively contact existing Sun Life Group Retirement Savings plan members who are leaving, or have recently left, their employer retirement or savings plan to discuss the value of keeping their assets with Sun Life.

  • Conduct primarily phone-based consultations, with video meetings as needed, to understand each client's goals, financial situation, and future needs.

  • Recommend appropriate savings, investment, and insurance solutions based on each client's needs, life stage, and priorities.

  • Build meaningful relationships with Group Retirement Savings plan members by delivering a professional, personalized, and advice-driven client experience.

  • Use strong discovery skills to ask thoughtful questions, uncover opportunities, and help clients make confident financial decisions.

  • Stay current on Sun Life products, industry trends, competitor offerings, regulatory expectations, and changes in the financial services marketplace.

  • Take ownership of sales activity, client follow-up, and results while contributing to a supportive, high-performing team culture.

  • Continuously strengthen your product knowledge, financial acumen, client conversation skills, and sales effectiveness.

What you need to succeed:

  • Valid and active Life Insurance License (LLQP)

  • Strong communication skillswith the ability to build rapport quickly over the phone and through video, combined with confidence in asking questions, uncovering client needs, handling objections, and recommending solutions.

  • Experience selling or recommending investment, retirement, or financial productsis an asset, with demonstrated ability to simplify financial topics in a clear, client-friendly way.

  • Strong listening skillswith the ability to understand client needs and communicate complex financial information in an accessible manner.

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented mindsetwith the ability to work independently in a remote environment, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, professionalism, and accountability for client experience and sales results.

  • Completion of a college or university degree, or equivalent related experience, with curiosity and a growth mindset demonstrating a desire to keep learning, improving, and continuously developing your sales skills.
