Payroll & Benefits Manager - (USA - Remote)

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee and manage our global payroll operations and benefits administration. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing across multiple regions, including employees, contractors, and partners engaged through PEOs and EORs.
In addition to payroll leadership, this individual will support broader HR initiatives, partnering with the HR Manager on projects and HRBP-related activities. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Payroll Management
  • Oversee end-to-end global payroll processing across multiple countries and jurisdictions
  • Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance with local regulations, and timely processing
  • Manage relationships with payroll vendors, including PEOs (Professional Employer Organizations) and EORs (Employers of Record)
  • Maintain and improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation
  • Partner with Finance on payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits

Contractor & Workforce Administration
  • Manage payroll and payment processes for a global independent contractor network
  • Ensure proper classification and compliance with local labor laws
  • Collaborate with Legal/Finance on contractor agreements and payment structures

Benefits Administration
  • Assist with administration of employee benefits programs across regions
  • Assist with and support benefits vendors and employee inquiries
  • Support benefits renewals, benchmarking, and program enhancements

HR Systems & Process Improvement
  • Support implementation, optimization, and maintenance of HRIS systems
  • Leverage systems (e.g., NetSuite SuitePeople) to streamline payroll and HR processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability

HR Projects & HRBP Support
  • Partner with the HR Manager on key HR initiatives and cross-functional projects
  • Support HR Business Partner (HRBP) activities such as workforce planning, reporting, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Assist with policy development, compliance efforts, and organizational initiatives

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll management, including global payroll
  • Bachelors Degree or Higher
  • Experience managing independent contractors, PEOs, and EORs
  • Advanced Excel and Data Analysis/Hygiene Skills
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and employment regulations across multiple regions
  • Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization preferred
  • Familiarity with NetSuite SuitePeople preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of benefits administration practices and vendor management
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional HR Designations (e.g. SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.)
  • Experience in a high-growth or global organization
  • Exposure to finance/accounting processes related to payroll
  • Project management experience within HR or operations
