Job description

Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports to: Accounting Manager of Evapco Power
Location: Taneytown, MD
Responsibilities:
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements for at least one remote location
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Analyze, reconcile and review commissions monthly to sales representatives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month end and year end close processes
  • Manage intercompany accounts, invoicing and reporting
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Assist with compiling annual US audit information
  • Supports budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Review contracts for assessing revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP
  • Development of new systems i.e., Jet Stream (a job tracking tool) for Select Technologies.
  • Various special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed
  • Willingness to travel to various locations of the Power Group
  • Work through quarterly forecasting goals with the FP amp;A Group
  • Be involved in the annual budgeting process
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred, not required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Understanding and experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of applicable sales and use tax laws, codes and regulations, preferred.
  • Must be highly skilled in use of MS Office, especially Excel Spreadsheets
  • Must have an excellent work ethic, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
