Job description

This is a remote position.

Paradigm is seeking a Financial Analyst – Disbursements to support our client, a global leader in the legal services industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build experience in financial analysis, accounting operations, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

In this role, you will analyze financial data, reconcile account activity, prepare reports, assist with tax identification and reporting processes, and help resolve discrepancies related to client and project accounts. You will work closely with the Disbursements team, project managers, and other internal stakeholders to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and processed on schedule.

The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical and organizational skills, and at least intermediate-level Microsoft Excel proficiency. Success in this position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and professional written and verbal communication skills.

As a Financial Analyst – Disbursements, you will:
  • Analyze account information and financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Extract data from company databases and use Excel queries, filters, and other analytical tools to prepare reports for management.
  • Reconcile account activity, investigate unexpected variances, and assist in developing and implementing solutions.
  • Verify the accurate posting of checks and other financial transactions and research unexplained account activity.
  • Apply for tax identification numbers with state and federal agencies and respond professionally to agency inquiries.
  • Track tax identification applications and follow up with appropriate agencies to ensure required identification numbers are received by established deadlines.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reconciliation reports supporting income tax reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate client records, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate project status, outstanding issues, and resolution efforts to Disbursements management, project managers, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Accurately record daily time in the company’s timekeeping system.
  • Assist the Senior Financial Analyst and Disbursements management with special projects and other duties as assigned.


Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have:

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant coursework and experience will also be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation processes.
  • Accounting coursework or previous accounting-related experience strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate or better Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with queries, filters, spreadsheets, and financial data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and investigate discrepancies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with internal teams, clients, and government agencies.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment.
