General Summary:

This senior-level individual contributor role supports inforce management and reporting for the Group Dental block. The position delivers actionable financial insights and collaborates with internal partners to develop reporting and monitoring tools that influence Dental pricing strategies. It combines financial analysis with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency, consistency, and data-driven decision-making across the business.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain reporting and monitoring tools to support inforce management of the Group Dental block.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform pricing decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders-including actuarial, underwriting, and product teams-to align reporting with business needs.
  • Oversee the annual renewal program, partnering with operational teams to ensure smooth implementation and alignment with financial goals.
  • Continuously improve reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and usability.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems and reporting platforms.
  • Use knowledge and skills to make appropriate recommendations for efficiencies and to enhance productivity.
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize resources and produce results to solve problems or issues with minimal support.
  • Accept responsibility for outcome of his/her own efforts.
  • Communicate issues identified, proactively recommend the most appropriate/effective resolutions and present effectively to management.
  • Maintain a strong, specialized working knowledge of Unum's products, services and business processes including, his/her specific business area, the issues and technical skills required to support the area.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience at Unum that well prepares and qualifies the individual for the specific work to be performed. After September 2015 a Bachelor's degree is required.
  • CPA, CMA or CFA certification preferred.
  • Three to six years comparable work experience.
  • Experience navigating change in a positive way.
  • Highly motivated individual able to take independent actions to solve problems/issues with limited involvement from manager.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal guidance from manager.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with all levels of management. Adept at handling group dynamics.
  • Ability to link understanding of business processes, business drivers, and changes to other areas and financial results and trends.
  • Intermediate to advanced EXCEL Skills
  • Proficient in Word and PowerPoint
  • Alteryx and Tableau skills preferred
  • Understanding of general insurance concepts

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$63,500.00-$120,000.00
