The Senior Sales Specialist, Immunohistochemistry for Leica Biosystems is responsible for driving strategic revenue growth and market share expansion through advanced territory planning, ownership of complex customer opportunities, and leadership of cross-functional commercial initiatives. The Senior Sales Specialist serves as a trusted resource within the commercial organization, leveraging deep market knowledge, customer insights, and strategic selling expertise to accelerate business growth and improve commercial performance.
This position is part of the Sales team and will be fully remote, located in San Diego, California. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
You will be part of the Commercial Organization and report to the Senior Regional Sales Manager, who is responsible for a team of sales representatives, to help exceed Leica Biosystems' sales goals and deliver on commercial strategies. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Achieve and exceed annual product sales goals by developing and executing strategic growth plans that accelerate market share gains, increase share of wallet, and drive competitive conversions across complex customer environments.

  • Lead advanced territory planning, opportunity management, forecasting, and funnel development activities while leveraging DBS commercial tools and customer insights to identify and prioritize the highest-value growth opportunities.

  • Build and expand relationships with key customer stakeholders, including laboratory leadership, pathology leadership, executive decision makers, and procurement teams, while effectively communicating clinical, operational, and financial value.

  • Serve as a subject matter resource for the Immunohistochemistry portfolio by sharing best practices, supporting onboarding and development of peers, and providing Voice of Customer insights that influence commercial strategy and business priorities.

  • Lead cross-functional account strategies involving Sales, Service, Applications, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and other business partners to drive customer retention, competitive displacement, account expansion, and sustainable revenue growth.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree required and 5+ years of sales experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering sustained territory growth through strategic account development, competitive conversions, and complex opportunity management.

  • Proven ability to influence customer buying decisions and drive outcomes across multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams without direct authority.

  • Experience leveraging customer insights, workflow knowledge, business case development, and commercial operating mechanisms to accelerate business performance.

Travel and Motor Vehicle Record Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 50-75% for territory coverage and/or for company meetings

  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Pathology, diagnostics, life sciences, healthcare, or medical device sales.

  • Deep Immunohistochemistry, histology, or laboratory workflow expertise.

  • Experience mentoring peers, leading commercial initiatives, or supporting strategic account planning.

The salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000. This role is also eligible for Sales Incentive Compensation (SIC). The total target compensation at plan (base + SIC) is $185,000 - $210,000 annually. Actual SIC earnings may exceed or fall below the target based on individual sales performance. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan, to eligible employees.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
