Remote Film Production Manager information

What does a remote film production manager do?

A Remote Film Production Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of film production projects from a remote location. They manage budgets, schedules, and communication between different departments and crew members, often using digital tools to collaborate with on-site teams. Their responsibilities also include troubleshooting issues, ensuring that production runs smoothly, and delivering the project on time and within budget. Remote Film Production Managers must be highly organized, tech-savvy, and able to adapt to the unique challenges of remote work in the film industry.

How does a remote film production manager effectively coordinate with on-site crew and maintain project timelines?

A Remote Film Production Manager relies heavily on digital communication tools to coordinate with on-site teams, ensuring everyone is aligned on daily objectives, schedules, and any changes in production plans. Regular virtual check-ins, detailed production schedules, and shared project management platforms help bridge the distance. Staying proactive about potential challenges, such as time zone differences or technical issues, is key. Successful remote managers foster strong relationships with local crew leads, delegate tasks clearly, and monitor progress closely to keep the project on track.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote film production manager, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Film Production Manager, you need strong project management skills, in-depth knowledge of film production processes, and experience leading distributed teams, often backed by a degree in film, media, or production management. Familiarity with industry-standard scheduling, budgeting, and collaboration tools such as Movie Magic Scheduling, Zoom, and cloud-based file sharing platforms is essential. Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities help you coordinate teams and manage challenges across different locations. These skills ensure seamless production workflows, effective team coordination, and the successful delivery of film projects in a remote environment.

Job description

About the Company:
ArcSite is the leading mobile sketching and drawing-based takeoff and estimating solution, trusted by designers, field sales teams, technicians, and inspectors. Our intuitive platform empowers users to create professional drawings on any device - without the steep learning curve of traditional CAD software - helping businesses save time, generate quotes faster, and close deals more efficiently.
We're a remote-first team with a strong sense of community, driven by growth, collaboration, and our core values: start with the customer, constantly improve, take risks, operate with transparency, and own it. At ArcSite, every team member has the opportunity to grow their career while making an impact, shaping the future of design, and living these values in everything we do.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution for one or more of ArcSite's core industry verticals. This role will be responsible for deeply understanding the customers, workflows, and market dynamics within assigned industries and translating those insights into products that solve meaningful business problems.
You'll partner closely with Design, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Leadership to define product strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver solutions that help our customers work more efficiently and grow their businesses.
Success in this role requires curiosity, strong product intuition, excellent communication, and a passion for understanding customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Market Discovery
  • Become the subject matter expert for assigned customer verticals by developing a deep understanding of their workflows, pain points, and business objectives.
  • Conduct customer interviews, usability testing, and market research to identify opportunities for product innovation.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to gather customer feedback and validate product direction.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitors, and emerging customer needs.

Product Strategy
  • Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for assigned verticals.
  • Balance customer needs, technical constraints, and business priorities when making product decisions.
  • Develop business cases and prioritize initiatives based on customer impact and company goals.
  • Clearly communicate product vision and rationale to stakeholders across the organization.

Product Development & Execution
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead products from discovery through launch while ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Analyze product performance and customer feedback to continuously improve the experience.

Requirements
Required
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in B2B SaaS
  • Experience owning products from discovery through launch
  • Strong customer discovery and product research skills
  • Experience translating customer problems into product solutions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Sales, and Customer Success
  • Strong analytical and prioritization skills

Preferred
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and APIs
  • Background in vertical SaaS or industry-specific software
  • Experience with mobile or cloud-based platforms
  • Familiarity with construction workflows, especially pre-construction processes such as material takeoff and estimating
  • Experience with CAD and/or BIM systems and related design workflows

Benefits
  • Fully remote
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401K match
  • $75 monthly wellness stipend
