Job Description

The Manager, Field Scheduling plays a critical role in supporting NBC Sports remote productions by overseeing the staffing, scheduling, and onboarding of technical personnel for live events. This position partners closely with Operations, Production, and Technical Management teams to ensure productions are fully staffed, crew logistics are coordinated efficiently, and scheduling challenges are resolved in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and experienced in sports broadcast crewing and workforce management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the hiring and scheduling of NBC Sports personnel, including staff, daily hires, and freelance crew members for remote productions and live events, managing crew outreach, availability, rate negotiations, and hiring to ensure all positions are filled prior to each event.
  • Partner with Technical Managers, Operations leaders, and Production Managers to gather staffing requirements and create accurate crew sheets for remote productions.
  • Communicate crew and event information to Production Managers in a timely manner to support travel planning and cost-effective logistics.
  • Support Operations and Production teams in resolving last-minute staffing, scheduling, and crewing challenges.
  • Provide support for the payroll process for each event.
  • Manage the internal personnel system, SCORE, including initiating and monitoring onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Support the ongoing development, maintenance, and enhancement of the SCORE workforce management system.
  • Anticipate staffing and operational issues, communicate risks to leadership, and help drive timely resolutions.
  • Proactively address issues that arise during the course of an event or production.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in broadcast crewing, workforce scheduling, or production operations; NBA experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of crew scheduling practices and workforce planning principles.
  • Familiarity with union regulations and practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and workforce management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners at all levels.
