Electrical Engineerย โ€“ Data Centerย Substationsย 

About the Positionย 

As aย midย levelย Electrical Engineerย in theย Data Centerย Substationsย group,ย you willย be responsibleย forย performing engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.ย You willย be responsibleย forย supporting client projects andย providing a qualityย deliverableย that is on time and within the defined budget.ย 

Salary Range:ย $90,000 - $110,000 / yearย 

The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.ย ย 

Essential Responsibilitiesย 

  • Performsย detailed design onย all aspects ofย substationย electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications,ย conduitย and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project schedulingย 

  • Preparesย computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies. Employeeย should create simple hand checks to quantify the computer aided resultsย 

  • Developsย protective relay settings.ย 

  • Preparesย a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studiesย 

  • Providesย fieldย assistanceย and troubleshootingย 

  • Checksย the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel forย general qualityย and accuracy asย requiredย 

  • Understands theย applications ofย relevantย Codes and Standardsย 

  • Assistsย with client contacts and communicationย pertaining toย specific assignments and meetingsย 

  • Other duties as assignedย 

Must Haveย 

  • Education:ย Bachelorโ€™s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologyย from an accredited institution, electric powerย optionย preferredย 

  • Experience:ย 1 โ€“ 5 years of relevant engineering or field experienceย ย 

  • Licensure:ย FE, PE is a plus, but notย requiredย 

  • Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical designย 

  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plusย 

  • Possesses effective written and oral communications skillsย 

  • Good interpersonal and people skillsย 

Note:ย Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.ย 

Work Environmentย 

  • Hybrid or fully remote work model depending on location and project needsย 

  • Travel typically ranges from 15โ€“25% and varies by projectย 

  • Combination of office-based work and periodic field engagementย
