Job description

About Flourish
1 in 25 adolescents and young adults will be diagnosed with serious mental illness. Most families struggle to access care. Flourish Health (https://flourish.health/) exists to make sure everyone gets the same access to high-quality mental health care.
About the Role
We are hiring a Director of Crisis Response to lead all crisis operations at Flourish.
In this role, you will:
  • Manage the Crisis Response team
  • Provide real time supervision and consultation to our crisis managers
  • Provide crisis response intervention when for overflow or coverage
  • Ensure crisis situations are handled safely, consistently, and quickly
  • Partner cross-functionally to continue to improve on existing crisis operations

You are the person responsible for making sure our crisis system works-both in real time and as we scale.
You will also help build and improve the system itself: how we respond to crises, how we train staff, and how we standardize and scale this work across the organization.
This is a leadership role for someone who is calm under pressure, highly clinical, and experienced in managing high-acuity situations.
What You'll Do
  • Manage and supervise the Crisis Managers team day to day
  • Oversee all active crisis cases and make sure the right actions are being taken
  • Serve as the top escalation point for high-risk or complex situations
  • Make real-time decisions during crisis situations when needed
  • Ensure staff are following crisis protocols and safety procedures
  • Set up and maintain clear supervision systems for all crisis work
  • Review crisis cases after they happen and identify what went well and what needs to improve
  • Build and improve crisis response workflows and systems so they scale
  • Train and coach staff on crisis response, de-escalation, and safety planning
  • Partner with clinical and product teams to improve how crisis care is delivered across the platform
  • Provide direct patient care in crisis intervention and/or post-crisis stabilization, including brief stabilization sessions or group support, as program needs evolve.
  • Step in directly when needed to support high-acuity cases
What We're Looking For
  • Independently licensed mental health clinician (PhD, LCSW, LPC, or equivalent)
  • Eligible for licensure across all 50 states
  • 8+ years of clinical experience after licensure
  • At least 2+ years leading or managing crisis care or high-acuity clinical teams
  • Experience supervising clinicians or care teams
  • Strong judgment in high-risk, fast-moving situations
  • Calm and decisive under pressure
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing startup environment
  • Must be 18 years or older
Schedule
  • Monday: 1:30pm-10:00pm EST (10:30am-7:00pm PST)
  • Tuesday: 3:30pm-12:00am EST (12:30pm-9:00pm PST)
  • Wednesday: 1:30pm-10:00pm EST (10:30am-7:00pm PST)
  • Thursday: 3:30pm-12:00am EST (12:30pm-9:00pm PST)
  • Friday: 3:30pm-12:00am EST (12:30pm-9:00pm PST)

Full-time | Remote
Attendance at in-person events required 2+ times per year
Benefits
  • 401(k) matching
  • Home office stipend
  • Paid time off
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

Reporting To: VP, Clinical R&D
Salary: $111,000-$125,000
The Right Person
You are someone who can lead in high-pressure moments without losing clarity or control. You know how to support a team through difficult clinical situations while also building the systems that make those situations safer and more predictable over time.
You care deeply about safety, quality, and improving outcomes for young people with serious mental health needs.
