Job description

About the Organization
Now is a great time to join Redhorse Corporation. We are a solution-driven company delivering data insights and technology solutions to customers with missions critical to U.S. national interests. We’re looking for thoughtful, skilled professionals who thrive as trusted partners building technology-agnostic solutions and want to apply their talents supporting customers with difficult and important mission sets.

About the Role
Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) National Classified Services program. In this high-impact role, you will be the backbone of the Justice Consolidated Office Network (JCON) and National Security Division Networks (NSDNet), ensuring 99% system availability for mission-critical operations. You will tackle complex architectural challenges, manage sophisticated routing schemes, and support both local D.C. sites and remote locations. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise to a mission that directly supports national security and the rule of law.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, engineering, and administration of high-availability classified network infrastructures.
  • Ensure 99% system availability across JCON and NSDNet through proactive architectural modeling and monitoring.
  • Manage complex traffic routing schemes and integrate local systems with the Justice Unified Telecommunications Network (JUTNet).
  • Plan, configure, and document enterprise network devices and topologies using Cisco and Juniper hardware.
  • Oversee the deployment and maintenance of Type-1 encryption devices and adhere to strict COMSEC protocols.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for end-point patching and complex networking issues across both copper and fiber optic media.
  • Provide technical support for both local Washington, D.C. sites and remote CONUS/OCONUS locations as required.
Required Experience/Clearance
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility (DOJ Adjudicated).
  • 8+ years of experience in network engineering, specifically within high-availability classified environments.
  • Expert-level experience configuring and maintaining Cisco and Juniper network hardware.
  • Proven expertise in network address space management and sophisticated traffic routing schemes.
  • Hands-on experience with COMSEC, including the configuration of Type-1 encryption devices.
  • Technical proficiency with physical layer infrastructure, including copper and fiber optic cabling.

Desired Experience
  • Direct experience with the Justice Unified Telecommunications Network (JUTNet).
  • Professional-level certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or JNCIE.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+, or CISSP).
  • Familiarity with Citrix-based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) network requirements.
  • Experience with VMware networking within virtualized data center environments.
  • Proficiency with automated network monitoring and management tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
The salary range provided for this position represents the anticipated base salary for successful candidates. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, security clearance level, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in Redhorse's comprehensive benefits programs and may be eligible for performance-based or other incentive compensation, where applicable.
