Job description

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the country in which the role is being hired. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Compliance and Reporting Analyst

Mark43's mission is to empower communities and their governments with technology that improves the safety and quality of life for all. We build powerful, scalable, and intuitive public safety software that sets a new standard for the tools first responders rely on every day. Our customers serve diverse communities, and we believe the best solutions come from teams with diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds.

We are looking for a Compliance and Reporting Analyst to join our Technical Services team. In this role, you will help public safety agencies successfully navigate the complexities of NIBRS compliance while ensuring their data is accurate, complete, and actionable. You will partner directly with customers to understand their reporting processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that help agencies meet evolving state and federal reporting requirements. Your expertise will have a direct impact on agencies' ability to maintain compliance and make data-driven decisions that support their communities.

What You'll Do

If you were part of our team, here are some things you would have done last week:

  • Partnered with a customer to scope and implement state-specific NIBRS compliance requirements within the Mark43 platform.
  • Collaborated with agency stakeholders to identify reporting issues, recommend workflow improvements, and resolve data quality challenges.
  • Analyzed incident and records data to validate compliance with state and federal reporting standards.
  • Worked closely with cross-functional teams, including Technical Services, Product, and Engineering, to address complex reporting scenarios and improve customer outcomes.
  • Assisted customers in understanding NIBRS reporting requirements and provided guidance on best practices for maintaining compliance.
  • Investigated data discrepancies, documented findings, and supported customers through corrective actions to ensure accurate reporting.

What You'll Need

We're looking for someone with professional experience supporting public safety records management, reporting, or compliance initiatives. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of NIBRS reporting standards and the ability to translate complex compliance requirements into practical solutions for customers. Experience working across multiple state reporting requirements is highly preferred, as you'll help agencies navigate varying compliance expectations while implementing scalable solutions.

People who thrive on our team also tend to share the following characteristics:

  • Attentive to detail. You enjoy digging into data, identifying inconsistencies, and ensuring every report meets the highest standards of accuracy.
  • Clear and confident communicator. You can explain technical and regulatory concepts to a variety of audiences and build trusted relationships with customers.
  • Adaptable and solutions-oriented. You embrace change, navigate evolving compliance requirements, and remain focused on delivering successful outcomes.
  • Humble, open, and curious. You ask thoughtful questions, collaborate across teams, and continuously seek opportunities to improve both customer experiences and internal processes.
