What are remote events?

Remote events are gatherings, meetings, or activities that take place virtually rather than in a physical location. These events use online platforms and tools to connect participants from different geographical areas, allowing them to interact, collaborate, and engage from the comfort of their own spaces. Examples of remote events include webinars, virtual conferences, online workshops, and digital networking sessions. They offer flexibility and accessibility, making it easier for people to attend and participate without the need for travel.

What are common challenges faced by professionals working in remote events coordination, and how can they be managed?

Professionals in remote events coordination often face challenges such as maintaining clear communication across time zones, ensuring attendee engagement in a virtual format, and troubleshooting technical issues quickly. To manage these challenges, it’s important to use reliable communication and collaboration tools, prepare detailed contingency plans, and actively engage participants through interactive elements like polls or breakout rooms. Regular check-ins with team members and thorough rehearsals before live events can also help minimize disruptions and create a smoother experience for everyone involved.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote events coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Events Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in event planning or project management, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with virtual event platforms (such as Zoom, Hopin, or Microsoft Teams), registration software, and digital collaboration tools is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability help you manage remote teams and engage virtual audiences effectively. These skills ensure seamless event execution, high participant satisfaction, and successful outcomes in a virtual environment.

Advisor Marketing Senior Manager

at SmartAsset

Our mission is to help people make smart financial decisions, reaching an estimated 23 million people each month through our educational content, publishing partners, calculators, and tools.*

SmartAsset has been recognized as a 2025 ThinkAdvisor Luminaries winner in the Firm Award - Product or Service Innovation category and was ranked #2574 on the Inc. 5000 list in 2023. SmartAsset has also been featured on Y Combinator's list of Top Companies.** In 2021, SmartAsset completed a $110 million Series D funding round that valued the company at over $1 billion.

*Based on average monthly reach data for 2025 across SmartAsset-owned properties and publishing partners.

**Other than application, licensing, or similar administrative fees, SmartAsset did not provide compensation in connection with the referenced awards or recognitions.

About the Role

SmartAsset is hiring a Senior Manager of Advisor Marketing to develop and execute the programs that generate demand for the Advisor Marketing Platform. This person will lead advisor-facing positioning, messaging, integrated campaigns, partnerships, webinars and events, content, and channel strategy across priority segments including RIAs, hybrid advisors, and broker-dealers.

The Senior Manager of Advisor Marketing will work as a peer to the Senior Marketing Operations Manager. Together, the two roles will co-own Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL) and Sales Accepted Lead (SAL) growth. Advisor Marketing will lead the programs, market strategies, messaging, and offers that create demand, while Marketing Operations will lead the systems, data, automation, measurement, and lead-management processes that allow that demand to scale and convert.

This is a hands-on, outcome-accountable role for a marketer who can move fluidly between strategy and execution, turn advisor and sales insights into compelling programs, and continuously improve performance through structured experimentation.

Responsibilities
  • Co-own MQL, SAL, and advisor pipeline growth targets with the Senior Marketing Operations Manager and leadership, with clear accountability for the marketing programs and market inputs that drive those outcomes.
  • Develop advisor ICPs, personas, and segment strategies across RIAs, hybrid advisors, broker-dealers, and other priority audiences; partner with Marketing Operations to translate those strategies into activated audiences and measurable campaigns.
  • Craft clear positioning, messaging, value propositions, and offers that reflect advisor needs, objections, buying cycles, and the differentiated value of the Advisor Marketing Platform.
  • Build and execute demand-generation campaigns across paid media, outbound, lifecycle, organic, webinar, and event channels.
  • Translate advisor research, customer insights, frontline sales feedback, and performance data into campaign strategies, content briefs, creative concepts, and testable hypotheses.
  • Lead webinar and event strategy end-to-end, including programming, promotion, partner participation, sales follow-up strategy, and post-event engagement.
  • Develop scalable advisor-facing content and enablement assets, including case studies, email programs, landing pages, campaign content, and sales collateral.
  • Define campaign requirements and partner with Marketing Operations to automate workflows, establish tracking, and scale successful programs.
  • Partner with Marketing Operations and Sales to identify funnel friction and run structured experiments that improve MQL-to-SAL and SQL-to-revenue conversion.
  • Monitor program and channel performance, communicate actionable insights, and recommend changes to budget allocation, channel mix, messaging, offers, and campaign priorities.
  • Establish repeatable campaign playbooks and operating rhythms that allow successful programs to scale efficiently rather than relying on one-off campaigns.
Skills & Experience You Have
  • 5-7 years of experience marketing to financial advisors, RIAs, broker-dealers, or fintech companies serving the advisor ecosystem.
  • Understanding of advisor psychology, objections, buying cycles, and the operational realities of growing an advisory firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute multi-channel programs that generate qualified demand and measurable pipeline impact.
  • Strong command of positioning, messaging, audience strategy, campaign development, and performance marketing fundamentals.
  • Experience managing programs from strategy through execution, including campaign briefs, content development, launch coordination, performance analysis, and iteration.
  • Experience leading webinars, events or other programs that create and convert B2B demand.
  • Quantitative orientation and comfort working with funnel metrics, attribution, campaign performance, and conversion data in partnership with Marketing Operations and analytics teams.
  • Working fluency with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Pardot, or Marketo; this role does not need to be the system administrator but must be able to define clear business and campaign requirements.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills and the ability to influence Sales, Marketing Operations, Product, PR, and other stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
  • High agency, strong execution velocity, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • A systems mindset focused on building repeatable programs, scalable playbooks, and durable growth processes.
  • Experience using generative AI and large language models to accelerate content development, creative iteration, research, and campaign testing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to communicate via phone calls and/or video conferences (mainly for concierge and sales roles)
Available Benefits and Perks:
  • Fully Remote Work: All roles are fully remote within the contiguous U.S., giving you flexibility to do your best work from where you thrive.
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Multiple Medical, Dental, and Vision plan options through trusted national carriers—so you can choose what fits your needs.
  • Life & Disability Protection: Company-paid Life/AD&D coverage, with options to add supplemental life and disability plans for extra peace of mind.
  • Financial Wellness: 401(k) with employer match, pre-tax savings through FSA and HSA options, and equity packages offered for every role.
  • Time Off That Works: Generous vacation, sick, and parental leave policies—because balance matters.
  • Additional Perks: Pet insurance, home office stipend, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
