Remote Esop information

What is a remote ESOP?

Remote ESOPs, or Employee Stock Ownership Plans for remote workers, are programs that allow employees working from any location to own shares in the company they work for. These plans are designed to align the interests of employees and employers, incentivizing workers by giving them a stake in the company's success. Remote ESOPs function similarly to traditional ESOPs, offering employees stock options or shares as part of their compensation, regardless of where they are based. This approach can help companies attract and retain top remote talent, foster loyalty, and create a culture of ownership.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote ESOP administrator?

To thrive as a Remote ESOP Administrator, you need a solid understanding of employee benefits, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, often supported by a degree in finance, accounting, or human resources. Familiarity with ESOP administration software (such as Relius or SunGard), advanced Excel skills, and knowledge of IRS and Department of Labor regulations are typically required. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective virtual communication set top performers apart in this role. These skills ensure accurate plan administration, compliance with legal requirements, and smooth coordination with stakeholders in a remote environment.

How does working as a remote ESOP administrator affect collaboration with other departments and stakeholders?

As a remote ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) administrator, you’ll collaborate frequently with HR, payroll, legal, and finance teams to manage plan operations, compliance, and participant communications. Most interactions take place through virtual meetings, shared documents, and secure online platforms. While remote work offers flexibility, it can require extra effort to maintain clear communication and ensure timely responses across time zones. Proactive coordination and regular check-ins help foster strong working relationships and keep complex projects on track.

Job description

About Us
CMB is a full-service AI-enabled insights and strategy firm based in Boston. As a Top 25 Insights & Analytics company, we help leading Global brands engage, innovate, and grow by combining market research, advanced analytics, consumer psychology, AI+HI solutions, and strategic consulting. Our people are our power, and our employee-owned culture values curiosity, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
What about our culture? Simply put, our people are our power. At CMB, we're proud to be certified as a Great Place to Work, a recognition that reflects the diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment our team creates every day. We bring together bright perspectives and curious minds who challenge assumptions, share ideas, and push one another to be better.
Innovation is deeply embedded in how we work. That commitment has earned us recognition as one of the GRIT Top 50 Most Innovative Companies, and it shows up daily in how we approach research, insights, and client impact. At CMB, you'll have meaningful opportunities to achieve your full potential - from learning new skills and expanding your expertise to advancing your career in an environment where you are supported, valued, and encouraged to innovate.
Our benefits say a lot about how much we value our employees: we offer a fully paid sabbatical, an annual wellness day, paid time off to volunteer, generous medical plans, a 401k match, and more. Every employee also gets to enjoy an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).
ESOP? Yes, we are 100% employee owned! An ESOP is a qualified retirement plan, similar to a 401k, but you don't have to make any financial contributions to participate in the rewards. When we each work hard to provide exceptional service and deliverables to our clients, the positive performance of the company increases the value of our stock and enables the accumulation of wealth for all our employee-owners.
About the Position
The VP, Strategy Consulting is a client-facing executive responsible for leading CMB's insights-powered and growth-focused consulting practice, expanding the firm's role beyond serving Insights leaders to advising senior marketing, strategy, innovation, and business leaders. This person will build and lead a consulting team to address complex growth, customer, marketing, innovation, and competitive challenges. This position reports to the SVP of Growth Strategy.
The primary responsibility is building and leading a consulting practice of cross-disciplinary strategists who transform our strategic insights and activation work along with our AI+HI solutions into integrated decision guidance and implementation advisory services. This role partners closely with Growth, Research, Analytics, and Industry Practice Leaders to shape opportunities from the earliest business conversations through implementation. The VP also serves as visible external leader for CMB by building relationships with senior executives, leading strategic pursuits, and establishing CMB as a distinctive insights-powered growth consultancy. This role can be hybrid in Boston or remote in the US.
About You
You are a strategy consultant and practice builder who has a reputation for establishing trust with senior leaders at large global companies. You thrive in ambiguity as a strategic systems thinker who naturally connects customer, market, competitive, and organizational insights into practical business growth strategies. Clients and colleagues seek your perspective because you simplify complexity, facilitate executive conversations, and turn evidence into practical strategies that organizations can act upon.
You are equally comfortable advising senior growth leaders, leading a strategy consulting team, and partnering with Business Development on client engagement. You are energized by the opportunity to build and grow an integrated strategy consulting practice.

  • Ensure our multi-disciplinary growth strategy consultants enable decisions and deliver client impacts.
  • Create a clear bridge from CMB's research, analytics, and AI capabilities to higher-value integrated strategic advisory engagements.
Serve as CMB's Executive Strategic Advisor

  • Work with Activation team members to build decision frameworks that simplify ambiguity and align stakeholders.
  • Coach your team to translate complex evidence into highly impactful executive-ready recommendations and strategic implementation guidance.
  • Help our account leaders identify broader business challenges where our capabilities can create greater impact.
Drive Growth & Market Presence
  • Expand executive relationships beyond traditional Insights organizations.
  • Develop scalable advisory offerings and serve as a thought leader.
  • Represent CMB in executive presentations, conferences, and strategic discussions.
  • Recruit and mentor diverse, cross-disciplinary consulting talent and external experts.
