Job Description:

Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as an Epidemiologist supporting the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Division (AFHSD). GDIT is your place to make meaningful contributions to challenging projects and grow a rewarding career.

You will be engaged in the analysis of very large datasets to estimate the incidence and prevalence of disease and injury in military populations.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Collaborate with a team of contractor, government, and military public health professionals on health surveillance efforts
  • Conduct descriptive and complex epidemiologic and statistical analyses on acute and chronic disease and injury data sets in SAS
  • Support the dissemination of the results of surveillance efforts and other studies via technical reports, briefings, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Incorporate feedback on the accuracy and efficiency of your SAS code from senior epidemiologists and use it to improve your own SAS coding for specific projects

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Master's Degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or public health (or related field)
  • Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience in health surveillance and/or applied epidemiology
  • Required Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience in health data analyses using SAS; Experience in using Microsoft Office software (MS Outlook; MS Word; MS Excel; and MS PowerPoint)
  • Attributes for Success: Team player who collaborates well with other professionals; Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred Skills: Prefer candidates to have secret clearance or NACLC-T3; Ability to work with large datasets
  • Location: Work 3 days onsite in the DC area - remote for the remainder of the week
  • Travel: No travel required
