Job Summary

The Annuity Reinsurance Administration Analyst is responsible for performing various duties to ensure accurate and timely reporting with annuity reinsurers. This includes preparing journal entries and required settlement reporting for annuity reinsurance treaties and having a thorough understanding of the treaties.

This position reports to the Manager, Annuity Reinsurance Accounting & Administration.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in many aspects of annuity reinsurance accounting and reporting, from the initial recording/coding of treaties to the monthly/quarterly processing and accounting/reporting
  • Prepare accounting/reporting entries and settlement reports for annuity treaties
  • Partner with various areas to implement new reinsurance treaties / amendments
  • Perform timely and accurate reconciliation of reinsurance accounts, making necessary adjustments as appropriate
  • Perform annuity reinsurance internal controls
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the underlying reinsurance processes and the types of treaties and arrangements in place
  • Assist with internal, external, and reinsurer audits
  • Maintain key stroke level standard operating procedures
  • Continuously evaluate processes and controls in order to create operational efficiency
  • Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related, as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not have formal people leadership responsibilities but may provide guidance, mentorship, or subject matter expertise to others.

License/Certification

  • CPA license or in pursuit of such license preferred
