Job description

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Environmental Scientist (Statistical Analysis) opportunity. Project Details Duration: Through August, with potential support into September for agency comments Level of Effort: Approximately 135 hours Location: Fully remote Position Summary Provide a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) statistical analysis of a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) for groundwater monitoring well sampling data. The statistician will perform RCRA statistical analysis of groundwater monitoring well sampling results for inclusion in a biennial report applicable to the collected data years.

The statistician will evaluate trends, compare wells, test for distributions, prepare control charts, recommend new detection monitoring limits (cumulative sum [combined control charts], or nonparametric limit [maximum value]), as appropriate per ASTM D6312 and as agreed upon in the Data Analysis Plan, and calculate false positive rates in the vicinity of the facility. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Environmental Science, Mathematics, or related field (advanced degree preferred) Experience performing statistical analysis on environmental or groundwater data Familiarity with EPA and/or RCRA regulations is preferred Strong experience with data visualization and trend analysis Ability to interpret data and clearly communicate findings Proficiency in statistical tools/software (e.g., R, Python, Excel, or similar) Other Job Requirements United States Citizenship Data Provided Annual and biannual reports (2023โ€“2024) Baseline data and historical datasets Existing charts and visualizations Benefits Edgewater is committed to recruiting and maintaining a staff of highly skilled professionals to support our customers.
