What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Environmental Filmmaker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Environmental Filmmaker, you need expertise in video production, storytelling, and a solid understanding of environmental science, often supported by a degree in film, media, or environmental studies. Familiarity with digital cameras, editing software (like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro), and remote collaboration tools is typically required. Creativity, self-motivation, and strong communication skills help set standout filmmakers apart, especially when working independently. These skills are crucial for effectively conveying environmental issues to a broad audience and managing projects remotely.

Remote environmental filmmakers often encounter challenges such as coordinating with teams across different time zones, accessing reliable footage from remote locations, and ensuring strong communication with environmental experts and local communities. Overcoming these obstacles often involves using collaborative project management tools, establishing clear communication protocols, and building a network of local contacts for on-the-ground support. Staying adaptable and proactive in troubleshooting technical or logistical issues is key to producing compelling and impactful environmental films remotely.

Job description

About Nen Creative

Nen Creative partners with tech startups to launch bold ideas into the world, creating the brands, products, and stories that fuel their growth.

Since 2022, we've partnered with some of the world's top founders and institutions including Amazon, Pear VC, Andreessen Horowitz, Mercor, Context Inc, Netic, Listen Labs, Tech Week, the University of Pittsburgh, Somethings, Mantis VC, Spur, Flora, and more.

We're growing fast and looking for great people to join us.

Please submit your application through this posting only. We are unable to review applications sent via email, direct messages, or website inquiries, and outreach through these channels may impact consideration.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for an Account Manager to be the first point of contact for incoming clients and the connective tissue between them and our creative team. This role sits at the intersection of client relationships and production โ€” you'll guide prospects from initial inquiry through scoping and close, then maintain the relationship to drive repeat business and referrals.

You have a background in film or production, which means you can speak credibly about timelines, deliverables, and creative process from day one. You're organized, personable, and care deeply about the client experience. This is a remote role.

What You'll Do

Client Intake & Conversion

  • Own the inbound lead pipeline โ€” respond quickly, qualify opportunities, and guide prospects through the decision process

  • Lead discovery calls to understand client goals, scope projects accurately, and set clear expectations

  • Prepare proposals and scopes of work in collaboration with creative leadership

  • Close new business and hand off seamlessly to the creative producer and production team

Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all pricing questions, scope changes, and contract matters

  • Build and nurture client relationships that generate repeat business and referrals

  • Develop and maintain the sales playbook, proposal templates, and client-facing collateral

  • Proactively request client reviews, testimonials, and flag clients who are strong candidates for case studies

CRM & Pipeline

  • Own the health of the CRM โ€” keep pipeline data accurate, up to date, and actionable

  • Track and report on key sales metrics including conversion rates, lead sources, and deal velocity

  • Ensure all client and deal records are maintained accurately in Airtable and our CRM

Production Handoff & Coordination

  • Collaborate with producers and creatives to ensure project scopes are realistic and resourced correctly

  • Flag scope creep or misaligned expectations early and resolve them before they reach the production team

  • Identify process gaps and propose improvements to how we intake, scope, and close clients

What We're Looking For
  • 2โ€“4 years of experience in a producer, account management, business development, sales, or growth role โ€” ideally at an agency, production company, or creative studio

  • Background in film, video, or content production is a strong plus โ€” you understand how shoots, edits, and creative timelines actually work

  • Natural communicator โ€” you're warm, clear, and clients feel confident in your hands

  • Highly organized โ€” you can manage multiple active deals and client relationships simultaneously

  • Self-directed and proactive โ€” you surface problems before they become fires

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

  • Strong written English and attention to detail
