Position Overview

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manual Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our custom web and mobile applications through thorough manual testing. This role works closely with developers, project managers, business analysts, and fellow QA team members to identify defects, verify fixes, and help deliver software that meets client expectations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of quality. You communicate effectively, enjoy solving problems, and take pride in helping deliver reliable software.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute manual test cases based on project requirements, user stories, technical documentation, and design specifications.
  • Perform functional, regression, usability, exploratory, and user interface testing for web and mobile applications.
  • Validate application functionality, design, and usability against documented requirements and established best practices.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and verify software defects using Jira and TestRail.
  • Work closely with developers to reproduce issues, verify fixes, and ensure defects are resolved prior to release.
  • Clearly communicate testing progress, results, risks, and release readiness to project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Test applications across supported browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices.
  • Recommend product improvements and usability enhancements when appropriate.
  • Balance testing activities across multiple projects while meeting established deadlines.
  • Participate in Agile planning, sprint activities, and QA process improvement initiatives.
  • Help ensure every release meets quality standards before delivery to clients.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Remote; 9:00am - 5:00pm EST; 20 - 40 hrs / wk
  • July through December with potential to extend.
  • High school diploma with a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in software quality assurance, software development, or a related technical field; or Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or a related discipline.
  • Experience testing web and mobile applications.
  • Experience testing on iOS and Android devices.
  • Experience using Jira and TestRail or similar defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari.
  • Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Familiarity with Waterfall methodologies is a plus.
Compensation
  • $50.00 - $60.00 USD per hour
  • Base compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including skills, education, certifications, geographic location, and overall experience relevant to the role.
