As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Psychosocial Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to understand the psychosocial factors affecting patients' treatment outcomes, ensuring timely and informed evaluations.
• Clinical Intervention: Provide supportive counseling to patients and their families, facilitate referrals to community resources, and assist families in navigating difficult decisions such as hospice care and advance directives.
• Case Management: Effectively manage a clinical caseload by recognizing high-risk situations, balancing competing demands, and collaborating with case managers to ensure seamless discharge planning.
• Legal and Ethical Compliance: Incorporate legal and ethical standards in all clinical assessments and interventions, adhering to policies surrounding patient rights and suspected abuse or neglect.
• Documentation: Maintain meticulous records in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
• In-Service Training: Deliver educational sessions for hospital staff on psychosocial issues, enhancing their understanding of patient care dynamics.
• Quality Improvement: Participate in developing and monitoring quality indicators aimed at improving patient care outcomes.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively both as an independent contributor and as part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to holistic patient care.
• Commitment to Other Duties: Engage in additional responsibilities such as organizing support groups and educational programs for patients and their families.

Your role will focus on individuals in need of detox services, many of whom may be facing complex challenges related to substance use and mental health. Provision of care will emphasize understanding the diverse needs of this population, applying evidence-based practices, and fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes recovery and healing.

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical setting, with at least 1 year preferable in a cancer care environment.
• Current California LCSW licensure is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory; Fire Life Safety Training certification is required if not obtained upon hire.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills.
• A strong commitment to enhancing patient care and providing excellent customer service is essential.

• Experience working with patients in substance use detox and recovery settings is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management is advantageous.

Keck Medical Center of USC offers an attractive compensation package, with a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
