Job description

Position               Lead Java Developer

Visa                       GC, GC-EAD, H4-EAD

Location               Madison, WI

Duration              1 year

Due Date             11/18/2025

Interview Method           Web-based with Camera On

NOTE: Candidates must be CURRENT WI residents. No relocation is allowed. 100% remote in the State of Wisconsin. This role is mostly remote (within the state of WI). However, the selected hires will need to be available to come onsite as needed, at their own expense. DOT is planning recurring in-office collaborative sessions for team members to be in the office working directly together so the ability to come into the office is necessary. 

Tasks

  • Provide technical leadership for modernizing existing Java-based web applications following industry best practices
  • Solve complex technical problems
  • Develop testing methodology and criteria and implement them on automated build processes.
  • Develop application presentation layers using modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies such as Angular.
  • Provide technical leadership to moving applications toward a microservices and modern looking architecture.

Skills Required

  • 10+ years - Java/J2EE
  • 5+ years - Spring Boot
  • 4+ years - Micro services
  • 5+ years - Struts Framework
  • 5+ years - Spring Framework
  • 5+ years - Angular
