About Us Advanced Presentation Systems is a commercial AV systems integration firm located in Albuquerque New Mexico designing, installing, and servicing Audio-Visual systems — from simple to highly complex — for corporate, education, and government clients. We're expanding our design team and looking for a technically sharp AV Design Engineer to join us — remote work is welcome, as we have experience with remote engineering resources. The Role Perform system design for AV projects, from client needs analysis through proposal generation, shop drawings, and commissioning. What You'll Do • Support account executives with client needs analysis and site surveys • Design and configure AV systems — including signal flow, equipment racks, and displays. Systems may include control platforms (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS), DSP (Biamp, Q-SYS), audio, video conferencing, and AV-over-IP transport. • Generate bills of materials, labor estimates, and scope-of-work narratives • Produce schematic diagrams and shop drawings • Provide phone support to field technicians for system configuration • Coordinate with Government classification and security professionals for the design of systems in secure/access-controlled environments (including conforming to STIGs, TEMPEST, NIAP, etc.) • Manage project documentation (drawings, cut sheets, as-builts) • Support commissioning, testing, and end-user training • Serve as technical SME for post-installation support Required Qualifications • AVIXA CTS-D preferred, or willingness to obtain within 6 to 10 months • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent AV industry experience • 3+ years of experience in commercial AV systems design or engineering • Working knowledge of Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, and Biamp • Experience with AV signal flow design and DSP configuration • Proficiency with Visio (preferred) or AutoCAD, plus Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to pass a background check for access to government/military facilities • If remote: ability to travel occasionally (under 5%) Highly Desired • Prior experience with AV systems in U.S. DoD or DOE secure environments • Current or past U.S. government security clearance • Control system programming experience (Crestron/Extron) • Experience with VTC platforms (Cisco, Poly) • Experience reviewing bid documents and preparing formal scopes of work Why Join Advanced Presentation Systems • Competitive salary: $80,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience and certifications • Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K • Remote-friendly with occasional travel • Varied, technically interesting projects across corporate, education, and secure-facility markets • Support for continuing education and certifications Advanced Presentation Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Due to the nature of our work applicants must be US Citizens. Employment is contingent on a successful background check and drug screening.
