Theย Substation Practice is seeking a Project Manager.

This role supports the delivery and growth of substation and power delivery projects across DEA's Energy Business Unit. On a day-to-day basis, this person will lead project execution, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and manage client relationships across utility, renewable, and power delivery work.ย 

As a Substation Project Manager, you will balance hands-on project leadership with client engagement and business development responsibilities, helping expand DEA's presence while ensuring successful delivery of substation, transmission, and related infrastructure projects.

This role is hybrid- or remote-friendly, with a preference for an individual who is based near one of our offices located in Portland, OR, Corvallis, OR, Bellingham, WA, Spokane, WA, Denver, CO, or Remote.ย 

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Lead project management and technical coordination for substation and power delivery projectsย 
  • Develop project scopes, execution strategies, staffing plans, and budgetsย 
  • Manage project delivery to meet schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction expectationsย 
  • Provide technical leadership and coordination for multidisciplinary teams including substation, transmission, and studies resourcesย 
  • Accountable for project delivery outcomes including financial performance, forecasting, and contract managementย 
  • Support andย participateย in business development efforts including client engagement, opportunity identification, and proposal developmentย 
  • Prepare scopes of work, fee estimates, and support project pursuitsย 
  • Build andย maintainย strong client relationships through consistent delivery and communicationย 
  • Oversee andย participateย in QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality deliverablesย 
  • Manage subcontractors and support consultants involved in project deliveryย 
  • Coordinate with practice and group leaders to align staffing with current workload and future commitmentsย 
  • Mentor and support the development of engineers, designers, and project staffย 
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited universityย 
  • 8+ย years of experience supporting substation, transmission, or power system projectsย 
  • 3+ years of experience in a project management or engineering leadership roleย 
  • Experience leading or supporting multidisciplinary engineering teamsย 
  • Experience contributing to project delivery including scope, schedule, budget, and client coordinationย 
  • Experience working within a consulting or utility environment supporting infrastructure or power delivery projectsย 
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsย 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and support project execution across multiple effortsย 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licenseย ย 
  • Experience leading complex or large-scale infrastructure projects with multidisciplinary teamsย 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading business development efforts, including client relationship management and pursuit supportย 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationย 
  • Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) or design-build project delivery modelsย 
  • Experience in utility-scale renewable energy or power delivery infrastructure projectsย 
  • Understanding of professional services contracting, risk management, and experience supporting contract negotiationsย
