Role Description:
TheSales ApplicationEngineer will support the Application Engineering Team's goal of providing customers and NES-WES SalesTeamthe technical information needed for project development, quoting, andfinalizingcontracts.He/Shewillalsodevelop budgeting tools and proposals for projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop technical parameters and commercial proposals for project quoting.
  • Attend customer meetings with Business Development Managers
  • Serve as the key technical advisor to customers and Sales team
  • Act as quality control for project budgets and proposals before being sent to customers.
  • Develop technical data for distribution to consultants and engineers.
  • Develop strategic relationships with balance of plant (BOP) suppliers.
  • Incorporate feedback from Engineering and Product Support into sourcing BOP vendors selection and design criteria.
  • Review RFPs for determination of equipment and BOP configurations, develop comments/exceptions, and provide quotation
  • Assist in front end loaded engineering (FEL) Studies and be familiar with project economics
  • Lead technical and economic modeling of microgrid technologies for end user sites.
  • Attend and lead "lunch & learn" presentations for Key Accounts
  • Maintain a culture which values a high degree of collaboration, positive work environment, and high level of responsiveness
Qualification Requirements:
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred. Other technical relevant industry experience may be considered
  • Excellent communication and listeningskills
  • 4+ years of technical experience in relevant industry, preferably with engines, rotating machinery, and power generation segments
  • Technical and commercial leadership capabilities
  • Capability and willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work collaboratively & navigate across multiple matrix organizations
  • High motivation level, self-starter with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong negotiation skills - experience negotiating with customers, suppliers and different levels of management
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
