In the role of Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments and developing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
• Providing consultation for pre-crisis and crisis planning, alongside developing behavioral guidelines and risk assessments.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in a timely manner, adhering to regulatory standards to ensure quality of care.
• Employing evidence-based screening tools as directed by the clinical team and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to implement positive behavior support strategies.
• Participating actively in the agency's licensing and accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Establishing effective communication channels with relevant stakeholders, such as state agencies and community organizations, to enhance service delivery.
• Seeking out and cultivating relationships with potential partners and funding sources to support program expansion and sustainability.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development activities, including attending conferences, leading educational sessions, and representing the agency at statewide meetings.
• Promoting the values and mission of Bay View Counseling Services in all facets of your work.
• Carrying out additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director to support organizational goals.

Your work will predominantly focus on clients experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including those needing support for emotional distress, substance use recovery, or rehabilitation for developmental disabilities and brain injuries. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients, thus creating a safe space for them to express their needs and work toward recovery.

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Master's Degree in a behavioral health or related field is required.
• possess an Independent LMHC License supported by the state board.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain comprehensive clinical records and prepare related documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, with the capability to effectively collaborate within an interdisciplinary team setting.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills based on professional experience and knowledge.

While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred:

• Previous experience working in a community health clinic or a similar setting focused on mental health services.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and screening tools in mental health.
• Experience in collaborating with external agencies and stakeholders.
