Job description

Project Development Manager / Project Developer - Renewables & Energy Storage Locations: FULLY REMOTE (CANADA) This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture with strong private equity backing that focuses on the development, execution, and operations of utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, having accumulated over 9GW of projects in a short period, and are currently expanding their Project Development Team in Canada. The ideal candidate will have experience leading utility-scale renewable energy project development initiatives in the Greater Toronto area.

This includes full life-cycle management of solar, wind, or battery storage projects and proven experience taking projects to NTP. Key responsibilities also involve negotiations with landowners and stakeholders such as local governments, economic development entities, and utilities. Experience with land permitting is a significant plus.

They are committed to creating renewable infrastructure solutions for the grid and offer comprehensive compensation packages, including a competitive base salary, open PTO policy, flexible work hours, benefits, and the opportunity to work with a transparent Executive Leadership Team. Responsibilities: Lead identification, research, prospecting, and site land opportunities for utility-scale renewable energy and storage projects through community collaboration. Manage initiatives related to site acquisition, financing, and development, including RFP responses.

Negotiate site control agreements with landowners for renewable and energy storage projects. Own development activities for new and ongoing projects, focusing on tax abatement, permitting, and environmental compliance. Qualifications: 4-5+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy, energy storage, LNG, or natural gas projects with IPPs/Developers/Owners.

Team and commercial management experience in renewable energy project development. Hands-on experience with real estate transactions and contracts in renewables, natural gas, LNG, or energy storage. Understanding of RFP/RFI processes related to project development.

Experience in siting, permitting, prospecting, and due diligence for solar, wind, or storage projects. Experience with site prospecting, land negotiations, and project financing support. Experience with energy storage, battery storage, or solar + storage is highly desirable.
