WSP is seeking a Power & Energy Project Manager for our Power & Energy Program Management Office in New York, NY.  The following locations will also be considered: Freeport, ME; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Fort Wayne, IN; Oakland, CA; Fayetteville, AR; Tulsa, OK; Columbus, OH; Vancouver, WA; Portland, OR and Omaha, NE.  The successful candidate may work remotely from a mutually acceptable location within the United States and must have the ability to travel to a WSP and/or Client office for periodic face-to-face meetings. 

This Opportunity

This position provides high level technical project leadership, and guidance with managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of EHV Transmission and Substation project(s) or portfolio of projects in accordance with WSP’s core values, and the level of project services agreed upon in the contract by WSP and the client(s).  Responsible for the overall performance of assigned project(s) that are moderate and larger size/complexity and regional in scope, and includes oversight for financial, technical, client satisfaction, quality, safety, and schedule.  Ensures that responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle (proposal phase, project startup and planning, project execution, reporting, and project closeout) are adhered to, delivered, and audited with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable corporate standards for safety, execution, profitability, and operational purpose. 

Your Impact

  • Coordinate and communicate with all levels of management and disciplines throughout the project life cycle to support project cost and schedule objectives, both internally and within the client’s systems.
  • Lead the development of project proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans
  • Oversee management of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost and change management and control.
  • Provide regular project reporting and updates to clients, technical leads, and business leaders, identifying any emergent issues with scope, risk, and/or budget and mitigation strategies.
  • Be the face of WSP for the client. Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with client by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring consistent communication to drive satisfaction and retention.
  • Adherence to proven processes and ability to develop new processes to standardize procedures.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and enforce project safety standards 
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
     

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Project Management or Construction Management), Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience within an A/E/C firm, utility, EPC, or power delivery consulting environment.
  • 10+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry.
  • Highly proficient understanding of project delivery process and strong background and experience in project management.  Experience managing projects through a variety of delivery models (DBB, EPC, PDB).
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management.
  • Advanced proficiency with interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively, persuasively, and tactfully with leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
  • Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, subcontractors, consultants, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits.
  • Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet project-specific needs.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation:
 

Expected Salary (all locations): $119,600 - $213,200
 

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $111,200 - $186,100

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
