Job description

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is hiring a Superintendent to join our PacificWest team. This position will be based in California and requires frequent travel (75 to 100%) including overnight stays.

The Construction Superintendent interacts with, and oversees, the sub-contractors on the job site(s) to ensure the quality of work is met. This individual ensures the scope of work promised to the client is fulfilled. The Construction Superintendent protects customersโ€™ interest and interacts with customers continually throughout the duration of various projects. The Construction Superintendent assists the Project Manager at his/her direction. This position requires that the employee is available to respond to client requests or problems during the contract phase, as well as during the warranty period, to fulfill ESGโ€™s obligation. Customer relations are a crucial part of this positionโ€™s responsibilities. The Construction Superintendent interacts with customers on a one-on-one basis from the beginning to the end of the construction phase of projects. This role ensures that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with ESCO standards and client requirements. The Site Superintendent acts as the primary point of contact on-site, coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

The essential functions of the position include:

  • Supervise & coordinates the subcontractors to ensure that project goals are being met timely and with highest quality
  • Monitors labor, material, contractors and suppliers
  • Assists Project Manager to deliver project on time and under cost
  • Ensures customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, client, and company safety standards
  • Assists with the transition between engineering and Project Manager
  • Provides advice in the selection of the subcontractors and vendors to deliver the project per our requirement and standards
  • Coordinates with governmental regulatory agencies for field inspections
  • Maintains current working knowledge of technology used for projects
  • Performs all duties as deemed necessary by management
  • Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards
  • Monitor progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines
  • Inspect work regularly to ensure compliance with design specifications and ESCO standards
  • Identify and address deficiencies or potential risks proactively
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and site documentation
  • Assist in preparing change orders and tracking project costs

Your background includes:

  • Five (5) yearsโ€™ related construction experience

A bonus to have:

  • Associates degree in construction related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain certification within the first 6 months of employment
  • 10 or more yearsโ€™ related construction experience
