What is a Remote Embedded Audio Engineer?

A Remote Embedded Audio Engineer is a professional who designs, develops, and tests audio processing software and hardware that is integrated directly into electronic devices, such as smartphones, automotive systems, or IoT devices, while working remotely. Their responsibilities often include programming embedded systems, optimizing audio algorithms, and troubleshooting audio-related issues. They collaborate with cross-functional teams using digital communication tools and must ensure audio quality, performance, and compatibility within embedded platforms. Working remotely allows them to contribute to projects from anywhere, making use of cloud-based development environments and remote debugging tools.

How does a Remote Embedded Audio Engineer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams?

As a Remote Embedded Audio Engineer, you will regularly collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers through virtual meetings, project management platforms, and code repositories. Effective communication is essential, as you’ll be responsible for integrating audio solutions into embedded systems and ensuring alignment with overall product goals. Remote team members often rely on clear documentation, regular updates, and collaborative debugging sessions to overcome technical challenges and maintain progress. Building strong virtual working relationships and proactively reaching out for clarifications are key to success in this distributed environment.

What is the difference between Remote Embedded Audio Engineer vs Remote Audio Software Developer?

Common Search/ComparisonRemote Embedded Audio Engineer vs Remote Audio Software Developer

The main difference lies in their focus: Remote Embedded Audio Engineers work on hardware-based audio systems, integrating audio processing into embedded devices, while Remote Audio Software Developers focus on creating software applications for audio processing. Both roles require strong technical skills, but their work environments and end products differ significantly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Embedded Audio Engineer, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Embedded Audio Engineer, you need a solid background in embedded systems, digital signal processing, and audio engineering, typically supported by a degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Familiarity with programming languages like C/C++, audio codecs, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and tools such as MATLAB or LabVIEW is essential, along with experience in version control systems like Git. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective remote communication abilities are crucial soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure the reliable design and integration of audio solutions in embedded systems, enabling clear collaboration and high-quality product delivery from a remote setting.

Job description

Let's Tango. Where Innovation Meets Impact. At Tango Analytics, we're all about helping businesses make smarter decisions through powerful technology, insightful data, and a whole lot of collaboration.

Whether you're a creative thinker, a strategic planner, a tech wizard, or a customer champion, there's a place for you on our team. We believe work should be meaningful and fun - so if you're ready to make a difference while enjoying the journey, come join us and let's Tango. We are looking for a Product Designer to join our dynamic and growing Product Design team.

Key Responsibilities: Own end-to-end design for a product area - problem framing through wireframes, prototypes, detailed specs, delivery QA, and iteration for enterprise workflows used by lease administrators, portfolio managers, and facilities teams. Run discovery with enterprise customers - interviews, usability tests, and workflow observation - and translate findings into design decisions that shape what gets built, not just how it looks. Build design system foundations - identify reusable patterns, document components, and contribute to the Tango Design System alongside the Director of Product Design and other designers.

Modernize legacy enterprise UX - redesign workflows that work but frustrate, within real constraints: data models that can't change overnight, user habits with embedded muscle memory, and migration paths that don't break production. Build and validate prototypes. Use AI-powered design and prototyping tools to create coded prototypes for user testing and ship design artifacts directly into the development pipeline.

Partner daily with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and Customer Success. Communicate design rationale to non-designers. Advocate for the user when it's uncomfortable.

Use AI-powered design tools as standard practice for research synthesis, design iteration, prototyping, and cross-team documentation. About You: 4+ years in product design with demonstrated work on complex B2B or enterprise products - multi-step, data-dense workflows with multiple user types and real operational consequences. A portfolio that shows process, not just polish - research, problem framing, iteration, trade-offs, and outcomes.

We need to see how you think. Comfort with ambiguity and legacy systems - can define the problem when there's no brief, design within constraints you didn't choose, and make progress without waiting for perfect information. Strong cross-functional partnership - explains design decisions to engineers and PMs without jargon, holds a position with evidence, and changes direction when the evidence points somewhere else.

Deep experience with enterprise workflow design - lease administration, facilities management, project management, or adjacent enterprise SaaS domains preferred. Consumer app portfolios won't translate. Design system instinct - has identified patterns, documented components, or contributed to a design system.

Understands why consistency matters across a product and has opinions about how to get there. Proficiency in Figma and comfort working with AI-powered design tools for prototyping, research synthesis, and documentation. Familiarity with modern design practices: continuous discovery, usability testing, and data-driven iteration.

Experience with internationalized products supporting multiple languages and regional markets is a plus. Tango's platform supports 26 languages across 140+ countries. Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience.

What We Offer We're committed to creating an environment where you can thrive-professionally and personally. Our offerings include: Competitive Compensation We recognize and reward your contributions with a salary package that reflects your value. Comprehensive Benefits Including health, dental, and vision insurance, and generous paid time off to support your well-being.

Flexible Work Environment Whether remote, hybrid, or in-office, we support work arrangements that promote productivity and balance. Inclusive & Collaborative Culture We foster a workplace where diverse perspectives are valued, teamwork is encouraged, and everyone has a voice. Tango is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

We are committed to equal opportunity regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, parental status, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, disability, or veteran status.
