Remote Embedded Audio Engineer information

What is a Remote Embedded Audio Engineer?

A Remote Embedded Audio Engineer is a professional who designs, develops, and tests audio processing software and hardware that is integrated directly into electronic devices, such as smartphones, automotive systems, or IoT devices, while working remotely. Their responsibilities often include programming embedded systems, optimizing audio algorithms, and troubleshooting audio-related issues. They collaborate with cross-functional teams using digital communication tools and must ensure audio quality, performance, and compatibility within embedded platforms. Working remotely allows them to contribute to projects from anywhere, making use of cloud-based development environments and remote debugging tools.

How does a Remote Embedded Audio Engineer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams?

As a Remote Embedded Audio Engineer, you will regularly collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers through virtual meetings, project management platforms, and code repositories. Effective communication is essential, as you’ll be responsible for integrating audio solutions into embedded systems and ensuring alignment with overall product goals. Remote team members often rely on clear documentation, regular updates, and collaborative debugging sessions to overcome technical challenges and maintain progress. Building strong virtual working relationships and proactively reaching out for clarifications are key to success in this distributed environment.

Job description

The Creatives team is on a mission to build a one-stop-shop for advertisers' creative production and management needs. We're developing a comprehensive in-house product that lets clients create, enhance, preview, store, and manage CTV, video, audio, DOOH, display, and native ads at scale - whether they start from ready-made templates or build from scratch. By delivering a robust, full-featured in-house solution, we reduce our clients' reliance on costly third-party creative providers and empower advertisers to move faster and more efficiently.

The next chapter for the team centers on AI-powered content generation and a multi-channel creative experience, with particular focus on AI first video and CTV solutions. It's a high-impact, fast-moving area with significant room to define the product, the technology, and the creative workflows that will set the standard for how advertisers build at scale.

As a Senior Product Manager on the Creatives team, you'll own a portfolio at the heart of this ambition. This is a 01 space that spans multiple teams and disciplines, and you'll set the direction for it: shaping strategy, making the hard calls, and shipping. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Design, Creative Studio, Data Science, and Revenue to translate a bold vision into products advertisers love.

StackAdapt is a remote first company. This role is open to candidates in Canada and the United States.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and end-to-end delivery for a portfolio spanning the video/CTV creative builder, AI-generated and brand content products, and creative integrations with social and partner platforms.
  • Lead 01 initiatives from first principles - research and validate the problem, frame the opportunity, define the path forward, and drive it to launch and adoption.
  • Translate complex, cross-team problems into a clear vision and crisp, actionable requirements that give Engineering, Design, and QE unambiguous direction on how features should behave.
  • Partner with Data Science and Engineering to shape how AI/ML and generative content capabilities are applied across creative formats, making sound technical trade-offs along the way.
  • Define key success metrics, monitor KPIs, and make data-informed decisions about what to build, what to cut, and what to double down on.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Creative Studio to ensure the tooling reflects real creative workflows and produces work that meets a high creative and brand bar.
  • Build new integrations with external platforms, partnering across teams to open up a wider range of creative assets and ad formats within the creative library.
  • Communicate precisely and proactively across the organization, keeping stakeholders aligned and informed at the right level and the right time.
  • Support customer-facing teams by resolving questions about your portfolio and helping triage bugs and regressions as they appear.
What You'll Bring to the Table
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager at a technology company, with a track record of shipping large, complex software products end-to-end (and you can speak to your successes).
  • Demonstrated success leading 01 initiatives that span multiple teams - you bring structure and direction to new problem spaces and rally others around a clear plan.
  • Experience building products in AdTech, MarTech, or creative platforms, with a meaningful edge for those who've worked on creative-building or generative AI products.
  • Strong fluency with AI/ML and generative AI concepts - enough to partner deeply with Data Science and Engineering, reason about capabilities and limitations, and make informed product decisions.
  • A technical background (Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience) that lets you discuss technical trade-offs, integrations, and architecture credibly with engineers.
  • A keen design and creative sense, balanced with technical depth - you pair an eye for what "great" looks like with the ability to partner closely with engineering on how to build it.
  • An excellent cross-functional collaborator who can tailor your approach across Engineering, Design, Creative Studio, Data Science, and Revenue without skipping a beat.
  • Clear, structured writing and communication - you distill complex ideas into words that build consensus and align stakeholders around your vision.
  • Strong prioritization instincts grounded in reason, clarity, and purpose - you focus the team on the most impactful work and the KPIs you're moving.
  • A leadership style rooted in influence rather than formal authority, and the judgment to operate independently in a fast-moving, evolving space.
