Job description

Nationwide Electrical Services, Inc. (NES) located in Washington DC is looking a Senior Electrical Project Manager – WMATA Metro Transit who will lead projects through planning, organizing and controlling from start to finish. This position requires the applicant to understand all the skills needed to manage multiple complex multi-million dollar electrical projects and coordinate project activity with the owner, general contractor, and other trade contractors.  They also analyze potential risks, issues or changes that may take place that could impact the project’s timeline and profitability and makes changes accordingly.

Specific Duties Include:

1)    Understanding, adherence to, and enforcement of NES and the customer’s/job site Safety Policy

2)    Mass transit electrical project management experience

3)    Develop a plan of action to get a project started and completed on time and within budget

4)    Develop project plans that identify resource and budgetary needs and operate within project

5)    Produce accurate and complete project cost projections

6)    Attend and/or host project meetings at least once a week with team and managers

7)    Visit NES WMATA Metro job sites at least every other day to ensure the project is progressing as needed

8)    Provide feedback, advice, and project updates to NES team members

9)    Manage deadlines and push the NES team to ensure timelines and deadlines are met

10) Identify needs, order as and when needed, and coordinate delivery and services from vendors, suppliers and subcontractors

11) Manage project labor on a daily basis and assess productivity and needs and make staffing adjustments as needed

 

Qualifications / Experience:

 

1)    Minimum 12 years Project Management experience on transit projects

2)    Strong communication and management skills

3)    Project financial management skills

4)    Timeline and deadline driven

5)    Leadership skills for motivation and conflict resolution

6)    Ability to navigate in a job cost computer system and understand job cost reports

7)    Electrical project management experience with a history of career and project growth
