Material Handler

Material Handler

Loads, unloads and moves materials within factory, in the rack area, warehouse from and on inbound-/outbound trucks by performing the following duties

Responsibilities

  • Lift truck certification required. Operates standard industrial lift truck, tuggers, electrical and manual pallet jacks, battery charges, and other forms of material handling equipment on the factory floor.
  • Ability to operate very narrow aisle forklifts (Swing Mast).
  • Operates cyclic replenishment systems like milk run trains.
  • Follows written or oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved
  • Conveys materials from storage to designated workstations.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand without damaging ensuring quality of parts.
  • Lifts heavy objects by hand within specified limit or with handling equipment, responsible for the cleanliness of his work area and equipment.
  • Safely operates tools and follows all rules regarding Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Interacts with SAP (narrow scope) to order materials from main warehouse, to confirm receipt of material provision as well as receiving printed documents
  • Loading and unloading of trailers and containers on the shipping/receiving dock.
  • Put up of incoming product as well as pulling of parts from warehouse.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualification Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years warehouse experience
  • Ability to work without constant supervision and the ability to think and act independently.
  • Ability to use packaged software on PC based computer system (data entry).
  • Ability to safely operate various kinds of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, dock levers, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrable understanding of material flow and inventory control
  • PC, telephone, calculator,
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
