Job description

Job Summary

Hörmann has existed for almost ninety (90) years, producing, and delivering over 15 million doors worldwide. Over the years, we have expanded our portfolio to include many products, complimenting the extensive choice of doors we offer. Dock levelers have been sold for years in Europe as a product from expanding. Now we want to expand again by bringing the dock leveler technology to North America. We are launching a dock leveler manufacturing facility in Imperial, PA. We are currently seeking a Material Handler to become an integral team member of the dock leveler business.

Major Responsibilities

  • Operate a fork truck – Pass Hörmann certification consisting of written and practical testing.
  • Maintains material handling equipment by noting and reporting any damage or malfunction.
  • Responsible for proper charging of electrical material handling equipment.
  • Loading/unloading of product and raw material to/from trailers.
  • Responsible to ensure material is delivered to appropriate workstations in a timely fashion.
  • Places incoming items in inventory.
  • A team member of the inventory team
  • Ensures proper placement of inventory and accuracy of inventory transactions and cycle counts.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • 2+ years of material handling experience
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Must be able to balance multiple priorities.
  • Proven Communication Skills.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Open and versatile in accepting and accomplishing a wide variety of tasks.

Department and Supervisor

  • The Material Handler will be a member of the Manufacturing team reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.

Travel

  • Expected travel will be <5% with training, periodic trips to Hörmann Germany, and equipment manufacturers.
