Job description

About the Role
Texas Sports Academy is a K-12 school designed for serious student-athletes who want both elite academics and high-level athletic development. Students cover 2x the material in just 2 hours a day, using the same 2-Hour Learning model as Alpha Schools. That frees up their entire afternoon for serious training, where they work alongside former pro and D1 athletes coaching them at the highest standard.
We are seeking a Content Creator to join our Marketing team remotely and edit fast-paced, scroll-stopping shortform videos from raw youth sports footage. In this role, you will cut highlights, day-in-the-life clips, and athlete features into Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts, working in CapCut and/or Premiere Pro and collaborating closely with the social media team.
What You'll Do
  • Shortform video editing: Edit fast-paced, scroll-stopping shortform videos (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) from raw youth sports footage, including highlights, day-in-the-life clips, and athlete features, turning around 60-90 second cuts within 24-48 hours of receiving footage.
  • Platform-optimized editing: Work in CapCut and/or Premiere Pro to add dynamic captions, trending audio, motion graphics, and pacing techniques optimized for Instagram and TikTok algorithms and youth sports audiences.
  • Team collaboration: Collaborate with the social media team via Iconik and Slack to pull footage, follow content calendars, and hit weekly posting quotas across multiple sports programs (basketball, baseball, volleyball, flag football).
  • Brand consistency: Maintain brand consistency, including our visual style, music licensing compliance, and on-brand graphics and lower thirds, while adapting tone for different platforms and audience segments.
  • Trend awareness: Stay current on shortform trends, sounds, and editing styles to proactively suggest formats that drive engagement and follower growth.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Shortform editing experience: 3+ years of experience editing shortform video for social platforms, including hands-on work in CapCut and/or Premiere Pro with captions, audio, and motion graphics.
  • Comfort with quick turnarounds: This role requires a steady output of finished videos, including 60-90 second cuts delivered within 24-48 hours of receiving footage. Candidates should be comfortable with the deadline and quota side of the role.
  • Strong collaboration orientation: Ability to communicate clearly and responsively with the social media team, particularly when deadlines are tight or footage arrives close to a posting date.
  • Attention to detail: Consistent, accurate execution across captions, graphics, and music licensing compliance. The role requires someone who can be trusted to keep every cut on brand without exception.
  • Remote-ready: This is a remote role. Candidates should have a dependable setup for editing and delivering video from wherever they work.
  • AI forward: We use AI tools daily to streamline communications, automate repetitive tasks, and speed up our workflows. Familiarity with tools such as Perplexity Computer is a plus.
Bonus Points
  • Youth sports content experience: Prior experience creating content for youth sports programs or school-age audiences.
  • Media asset management experience: Hands-on experience with Iconik or a comparable platform in a production environment.
  • Template or automation experience: Familiarity with editing templates, presets, or automation tools used to streamline captioning and graphics work.
  • Multi-platform publishing experience: Experience preparing and delivering content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts at scale.

Benefits
Pay: $25/hour
