Architectural Services Consultant - Remote Wisconsin or Northern Illinois

The Architectural Services Consultant will promote Allegion's professional architectural consulting services centered around Division 08 and Division 28 including specification writing, submittal reviews, and project management. As an architectural services consultant, you will work with prospective and existing architectural accounts as part of a demand creation strategy focused on increasing the influence of Allegion Architectural Services in the market. This role requires a self-starter mentality and ability to operate in a continuously evolving industry. A successful architectural services consultant will embrace and drive change, take calculated risks and develop strategies to increase market share in a team-based environment.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

What You Will Do:

  • High level of project management, including coordination of Division 8 door hardware with Division 28 electronic access control solutions, while ensuring code compliance.

  • Proactively develop relationships with industry design professionals to increase demand for Allegion's brands and architectural services.

  • Identify target accounts; create and manage account objectives to drive both short term and long term growth.

  • Lead architectural education including AIA Lunch and Learns, and industry networking events.

  • Procure specification writing opportunities from targeted architectural accounts. This includes leading a successful project review meeting, gathering all relevant documents and project information, and defining a scope of work that is mutually agreed upon.

  • Manage each procured specification project through its lifecycle, regularly updating the project schedule and Allegion stakeholders.

  • Proactively identify and track new project opportunities by utilizing lead databases and leveraging industry relationships.

  • Pursue assigned construction leads in a timely manner; request RFAs (requests for approval) on projects where Allegion is currently not an approved manufacturer.

  • Utilize relationships and industry expertise to initiate architectural consulting agreements with firms; Architectural Consulting Agreements (ACAs) formalize the partnership between the Allegion Consultant and architect, providing earlier coordination, agreed upon scope of work and add true value to the architect and construction process.

  • Collaborate closely with the broader sales team on specification projects and during monthly market and project-tracking review meetings.

  • Provide mentorship and development to peer group to support the growth of the team.

  • Maintain excellent industry/competitor product knowledge by reviewing and understanding market data of competitive activity.

  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline by utilizing our CRM to enter call reports, to track assigned projects and move them through the sales process, and to update critical customer and project details.

  • Adapt to changes in marketplace and pursue continuing education related to both the construction industry and needs of different industry influencers; participates in local industry events such as AIA, CSI, and DHI.

  • Maintain awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensure compliance.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

  • 5+ years business development or technical experience

  • Ability to develop basic understanding of security systems integrations and electronic components

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, deadlines and deliverables.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills

  • Proficient with business tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and CRM.

  • Demonstrated experience influencing others with a bias for action

  • Strong customer service focus

  • Ability to travel up to 25% within the territory

  • Architectural, construction, door hardware, or access control experience preferred

  • Ideal candidate will live within the Greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Wisconsin or Northern Illinois market.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Total Compensation Range: $90,000 - $156,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
